Cape May clambake-not booking?

Is it possible that the restaurant will be closed for refurb?

I don't know what its worth, but when I called last Wednesday afternoon, the Disney Dining rep did not see anything indicating that a referb was in the works. She did check.

That of course doesn't guarantee anything, but the effort was made ...

She said it looks like Dining has not "loaded" those July dates for Cape May into the system yet.

Yep me too. Could not link up online but could over the phone. Tech support told me you could never do 180+10 online even though I did it last 2 years.

Got all rest over phone but note Cape May. Lovely international phone bill coming!!!

If your a DVC member or using a DVC ressie (renting points) you would not be able to make your dining ressies 180 +10 on line. You would have had to go day by day this year....( Some sort of glitch or as another poster mentioned, trouble in IT itself )...

I was told the same thing (have been calling and checking on-line since Jan. 13th)...the last phone call....a CM told me to try on Feb 1st ...UGH !
I hope we all have better luck soon...I was told that they are sure Cape May is not going into refubishment since it is such a popular restaurant and July is a busy time of the year....
I am also still having trouble making a ressie at H&V in DHS as well....I was told that it has to do with not releasing later times in regards to the Fantasmic package...Who Knows...its really upseting now ....I mentioned to one CM that they should change the amount of time we have to make ressies then, and go back to 90 days if we are going to have such trouble...
It is really taking the fun out of dinner planning I tell ya !! , and the only reason why Im hanging in there is ...my family would be very dissapointed if I couldn`t get Cape May...they all love to dine there for Breakfast AND Dinner !!

My 180 +10 opened Jan2.

I have been trying to make an ADR for 50's Prime Time for 8ish since then by checking each day.

For a few weeks all that was available was 6:20 (same time avail for Sci-Fi also). Then just the Sci-Fi had availability. None of the other sit downs have ever shown availability for any seating since I began checking.

Now it lists no availability for Brown Derby, H&V and Mama Melrose and Sci -Fi and 50's PT isn't even listed, availability or otherwise.

I assumed some restaurants were not loaded yet but I wonder why some were never taking ADR's beyond 6:20 and now they don't even show at all? The park is open until 10.

I also had to wait a few days after my 180 for LeCellier to load their dates for July. Seems like it's a July thing?

I hear ya!

In the past, my family has actually had both breakfast AND dinner there on the same day.

Sending pixie dust for all of us...that times will be loaded for making adr`s at Cape May .....SOON !!
I hope everyone remembers to try and post here, when they are finally able to make a ressie !

I had experienced the same frustration at 180 +10 and concern about a refurb. However, I was finally able to book Cape May breakfast for 7/8 last Friday (1/27). Take heart; it may slow, but it looks like it's coming. Good luck, all!

hmmm....no dates in that time frame were coming up for me on line...I just called Disney Dining, with the same result...nothing....
I can`t understand how the 8th was available...then the 20th for you, and all dates and times in the middle of those dates aren`t ??? The CM checked from the 8th to the end of the month with no result.....wow...this is very strange !.....Im sure you were able to get a confirmation number...and Im very happy for you...but again....not one time was available from morning to evening ....
I am hanging in there for my family ....but...honestly...Im getting alittle weery right now...

I called again today to see if I could get a dinner reservation for 7/29 and was told again by a very helpful CM that the information has not yet been uploaded into the reservation system. The CM reiterated what others have reported that no renovation is being scheduled at Cape May Cafe during that time and to just keep trying back every couple of days or so.

Has anyone every experienced this before with other restaurants?

Keeping my fingers crossed as this is my son's favorite restaurant and one of the few "must eat at" restuarants when we visit WDW.

Right now (just tried) I'm seeing July 8th as the earliest date that can be booked.

Hi ,

i actually called the Beach Club and left a voicemail message .
The Restaurant manager called me back the following day and said they would be closed for a refurb opening again around 8/9th August .

They will be closed for approx 1 month . There was nothing available for us 11th July - 26th July.

Said Disney Dining were to be told yesterday .

Wonder if Ariels will open to help with increaded demand - didn't htink to ask whilst on the phone .

Thanks for the update. I was afraid that the reason we weren't able to secure any dining reservations for Cape May Cafe was because it was going to be closed for renovations during our stay. While it appears that we won't be able to enjoy one of our favorite restaurants while at WDW this year (we leave to head back home on 8/2) this will give us the excuse we need to try a new restaurant while on vacation.

Seems like a crazy time to close a "Summer Themed" restaurant, but I guess there really is no GOOD time to do it.

Guess we will have to try something new this year.

Funny though, I called DD yesterday for another reason and was told that they are still working on dates for CMC.....I suppose the CM`s weren`t informed yet ...

I'm at my 180+10 day today and I can't book Les Chefs De France. It's completely unavailable for the full 10 days at dinner, this must be why
