We were thinking of making reservations to the Cape May Clam Bake.
Has anyone ever been there before? Is the food good and is it worth the price? I would appreciate any info. Thanks :earboy2:

We eat at Cape May almost every trip -- obviously we enjoy it! Its one of the best cafeteria-style restaurants. THey also have a small area set-up for kids -- with macn'cheese, chicken tenders, etc. If you are looking for a quiet dinner this is not the place.

Cape May is a must-do for us every single trip - we love it there & so do all of our family members that also visit WDW. The food is delicious & plentiful & I especially love the dessert bar! :rotfl:

We've also recently started eating there twice on trips - once for the dinner & once for the character breakfast. :)

My family of 5 loved CMC for breakfast & dinner. It's a "must do" next year. Two of my children will be considered "adults" next year & it's still worth it.

Another YES vote for the Cape May Clam Bake. The set up is such that if you don't want seafood you can get other options on the other side. There is also a side for salads and another for breads and the children's food. Note that everyone can eat from any selections....kids can eat from the regular food and adults can eat the kids selections if they want. Their desserts are also special. Excellent food and a MUST for every trip.

We was just there a few weeks ago. I'd heard mixed reviews on this board, so I wasn't expecting much. We loved it! The food is really good, probably only 2nd to Boma in terms of buffets. We'll definitely be going back.

I'll be the voice of dissent here - We went in 2000 & didn't think it was worth it at all. But, alot changes in WDW restaurants in 5 years, so the quality might be better. A friend of mine from New England just went & said it was actually pretty good. Sounds like things have changed for the better.

being from New Englad I have to say this was the WORST meal of my trip a few years ago.

Well, as you can see, you'll never get a consensus on anything that is opinion-based, so if the menu appeals to you, give it a try..everyone's taste is different!

Aslo, if you do a search on this board you'll find many other threads on the Clambake.

We just got back. We have eaten at
Cape may every time we have gone, and this past trip was the best ! I can't believe it has gotten even better. A few years ago, It had dropped off a little, but it is back on top!
We love it! But , it is noisy

If you enjoy buffets than I would give this a try. My family loves the variety at the Clam Bake and we have 2x before and plan to go again in January.

We love it and make it a point to visit each time we stay go to WDW. We usually do this prior to watching Illuminations.

We ate there for the first time in July and loved it! We were just there a few days ago and went again, and it is now one of our must do's!! I just loved the mussels and the oreo bon bons were to die for!! Give it a try. :)

Just Do It!

(waiting for my Nike endorsement check)

We go every trip (twice a year). It is a very good buffet. It isn't the "best" seafood but it is good. There is a nice variety of both seafood and non seafood items. The desserts are also really good. I believe it is well worth the price.

Oh I love the Oreo bon bon's. Those are my absolute favorites!! :cloud9:

Ok - I haven't been to the clam bake - (but was thinking about it :smooth:) - someone at my office said that you have to pay extra if you get the crab legs. Is that correct?? :earsgirl:
