I called today to pay off my balance for my trip and make my room requests. I had the nicest CM - Elmer - who reminded me to make sure I had my ADR's made (I do and some really good ones). When he saw I was staying at BWI he told me I should try Cape May Cafe at night and to he said they had the best clam chowder he ever had. I told him we already had ressies for there and he said to make sure I had a bowl for him! Now I can't wait to try the chowder. That hadn't even hit my radar for this trip!

Has anyone else had the chowder there? Did you like it? Was it as good as he says?

They had clam chowder at BC Concierge, which I'm sure is the same. It was great. We had it every time it was out.

BC Marketplace also has clam chowder.

I had the chowder at Cape May and found it to be so salty it was almost inedible...... I may be biased as I can make a killer chowder myself and do not kill it with salt...:scared1:
If you are not used to good chowder like I am you will probably find it ok.:goodvibes I may have just hit it on a bad night too.
Have a great trip!:wizard:

I can't eat it due to a seafood allergy, but DH did eat it and raved about it the whole trip.

I tried it for the first time at cape may, then when we ordered room service I got the soup every time as my appetizer.... yum, I plan on trying to stay at BCV again just so I could have easy access to that soup plus my kids want to go back because they loved the pool...:rotfl:

DH found the chowder and other seafood to have no flavor to it. We did like the fried tilapia. I hate fish but had two pieces of that. The regular foods like the chicken, ribs and steak were really good and the side dishes were great. I don't eat seafood so I stuck to the other stuff. It was a nice dinner and our server was great. DH decided he loved the Oreo BonBons but not even that will make him go back.

I Love Elmer. I had the best Reservation call ever with him. He's a real sweetheart. He did my dining reservations and after we did three or so, he stopped and said "well, aren't you surprised you got what you wanted??" I laughed and said Yes, but I know I'm asking for off times. My ADR date was the first one for free dining, so he had already been very busy.

Congrats on a little pixie dust. Now you have the chance to do something that you wouldn't have thought of yourself. That's why I LOVE Disney!:lovestruc

The chowder is pretty good....it's not "chowda", as in some of the really good stuff you can find at specialty places up here in the Northeast...but it's probably the next best thing I've been served in a restaurant.

We liked it....for sure.
