Cape May Cafe

Hi to all, I am staying at the BCV for the first time this coming spring and considering eating at the Cape May Cafe. My son really likes crab legs and I saw that crab is listed on the menu. I would like to hear about any experiences with this restaurant. Thanks.

I was there the other night. Food was all fresh and what I ate was very good. I mostly ate the steamers and crab legs, I never liked crab legs before but am now a convert. You will love the food.

My server was not good at all, he disappeared after bringing my drink and returned when I was eating desert, I asked for coffee and he gave me a coffee in a go cup, not at all what I had in mind.

We've done both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both.

Don't expect too much from the crab legs. They are tasty, but they are about the width of a straw...LOL. Not much meat. We probably had to eat three good sized plates full to even get a little bit full, and if you knew me you would know I am a very light eater so that is saying a lot!
The rest of the buffet was nice too. The carved meats and sides were all tasty.
I would probably go back, but only if we were staying at BC, YC, or BWI.

Service was so-so. Not terrible, but not great. We were stuck in that little side room though, so maybe they forgot us!

Keep your expectations resonable and I would say you will enjoy your meal.

It was a decent meal. Service was only okay when we went as well. Buffet had odd layout. Desserts were lackluster (but those have changed since we went, I believe). I wouldn't go out of my way for it, but if you are staying right there and you like crab legs, I think you will enjoy

We really enjoy Cape May a lot! We've been to both the breakfast and the dinner. Dinner is our fav. DH loves clams and I love crab. It's fantastic! Our servers on the last couple of visits have been great! No problems at all! I think you'll enjoy it!!

We loved our dinner at Cape May! Our son, who was 6, went crazy for the crab legs. Very true, they are not that big - I think he ate more than a dozen, LOL!!! But, everything was tasty - our server was decent. Would recommend it!

We have been there before and are going back again next Friday night! My 12 year old son specifically asked to go back because he loved it so much. The atmosphere is really relaxed, and we had great service when we were there. We thought the food was very good - yes, the crab is a bit small, but it's sweet and there is lots of it. We really enjoyed the salads and the hot dishes - we had a great seafood pot pie. My husband also enjoyed the mussels and clams. They also have some sort of roast beef and other non-seafood items. I personally loved the little desserts. Have fun!

We really enjoy the food there. The crab legs are not very big, but they are good, since you can get as many as you want, the size is not such an issue for me. There are a lot of options, everyone should be able to find something they like. The service is alright, not great but not bad enough to spoil the meal. We are already planning to have dinner at Cape May on our next trip.
