Cape May Cafe

We stay at POR. The worst thing about Cape May is getting there!! There is just no good way to get from POR to BC. We were at our bus stop over 90 min before our ADR but were still late! We planned to take a bus to MK or E and then go from there to BC. Bus after bus showed up for DHS but never one for E or MK. We finally, against my better judgment, took the DTD bus. HUGE mistake!!!

=.

For future reference, take the bus the DHS, and you can WALK to the BC! or take a friendship boat....probably the easist park to work from....

They put us in the side room when you first walk in, very far from the buffet and low ceiling.

I told her I wasn't happy with the table and she ran out and got the person who set up seating. I said with a smile - "no offense, I just don't like it here." She said something like "Whatever - just get up and get out so we can re-set the table."

Otherwise, we totally recommend eating there.

This past trip last week, we got seated in that room for dinner as well. It was our check-in day, & I knew we'd be eating at Cape May two more times during our stay (one more dinner & a breakfast), so I did not say anything. But in my head, I planned to speak up if they wanted to put us in that room again. I didn't need to say anything, as it did not happen the rest of our stay.

That side dining room, IMO, should not even be considered part of the dining room...it's just does not have ANY of the atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant, and at $40.00 a dinner, you should get a nice table.

We were there a few weeks ago and all 7 of us loved our meal. The upside was the food (especially the seafood) and the downside, for us, was the server. Not overly attentive had to flag her down for refills on drinks and water. Competent but missing that little something extra.

I have pictures and our trip report here. Hope it helps some. :)

We were there in May for the first time and absolutely loved it. We were just talking about Cape May the other day. The food (all the food) was amazing. If you love crab legs and other types of seafood, Cape May is worth a ADR.

Crab legs are served all the time.

The kids mac and cheese was the best (and we had some bad MnC during our last trip).

The dessert flan was heavenly.

We can't wait to go back!

Enjoy!

Are crab legs included with the regular price or do you pay extra for them? I do not see them listed on the menu and I seem to remember many years ago paying extra for them. Is this still the case, that you can get them only if you pay additional money? For those of you that have been there recently, how much is the regular buffet this year? We have not been in two years.

Thanks so much. :)

Just ate dinner there twice last week.

The crab legs ARE included in the price of the buffet ($40.00 per person).

OMG is it really $40 per person now.....I really want to take the family there but $240 seems unreasonable for a buffet....

It is 36.99pp, and I think it is unreasonable, but it IS WDW. ;) I like Cape May, but we are not huge eaters so we have not been there in a while. I did not realize they are seating people in the bar area now.

We just ate there last week. It is $40 per person right now.

I'm holding our Cape May receipt dated June 26th & it states 5 adult dinners: $199.95.

Thank goodness for our TIW card that took off 20%. :thumbsup2

I think $36.99 is more reasonable then some of the other buffets, since the items they offer, like crab legs, and the fact that it is good quality, make up for the price. Most of the dinner buffets are the same price, and aside from Boma, CMC is the only one I'll pay OOP for anymore.

The restaurant prices is why I buy DDP. Seriously I save a good bit of money each time..

A few weeks ago we just did a weekend in WDW, one day at Hilton DTD and one day at CBR, the day we checked into CBR I had DDP. We ate Pecos Bills for Lunch which was over $40 and then got 2 ice cream cookie sandwhiches to split which with tax would have been around $9 and a reice crispie around $3 and then ate at CM. Which was almost $40 per person so bewteen all this food I saved almost $70 for one day!
