Cape May Cafe vs Chef Mickeys - which to choose?

My DDs want to see Minnie at a character breakfast. We are staying at Beach Club Villas and don't know whether to choose Cape May Cafe or Chef Mickeys. I have been to Chef Mickeys but not the kids and think they'd like it, but Cape May would be convenient. Which has better food?

Better food, Cape May Cafe hands down. Which one is better to see Minnie, I'd say Chef Mickeys. At Cape May Cafe, Minnie is dressed up in beach attire and is only in the lobby for 1/2 hour of the hour, ie. she get there at 8:00 stays until 8:30, then doesn't come back until 9:00. I thought there was better interaction with Minnie at Chef Mickeys than Cape May Cafe. Actually, we had to wait to see Minnie, since we got there while she was on break and when we left, she was on break again. What I do is eat dinner at Chef Mickeys and breakfast at Cape May Cafe, the other characters at Cape May Cafe are GREAT and it's a GREAT buffet!!!!

I love Chef Mickey's don't get me wrong... but Cape May is much better. I think it is more cozy, and I like the menu better!

Well we are doing both. Chef Mickey's for the characters and Cape May for the food. Though Chef Mickey's does have excellent food, DH and I love Cape May. Do you have time for both?

Cape May is so convenient to the BCV and the food is great. We have done both but if I had to pick I would pick Cape May. We stayed at BCV in Aug and this meal was dh's favorite of the character meals we have done in the past. Have a great trip.

I'd choose Cape May any day. Besides having better food, it is likely to be less crowded. We've never had character interaction like at Cape May -- each visited multiple times. We also spent plenty of time with Minnie.

I've never been to Cape May. I've been to Chef Mickey's and the food left a lot to be desired, (think high school cafeteria quality). You might want to try the character lunch buffet at Hollywood & Vine. Minnie is there, and at least my kids liked the kids buffet.

Another vote for Cape May. It is definitely less crowded & less hectic. The food is so much better and we thought the character interaction was great. Goofy even sat down and read the paper in a seat beside us!

I asked about Cape May a week or so ago and the reviews were so positive I booked it for Sat. Dec. 7, even though I could only get 8:10 or 9:40, so I'm going with 8:10--the morning after MVMCP!
We've done Chef Mickey's for 3 dinners and 1 breakfast, and we definately need to give it a rest.
