Trying to decide on a breakfast character meal that involves some of the classic characters.

We have done Chef Mickey and always enjoyed it- but wondering if we should try something new???

Kids are 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7. And we visit Disney approx. every other year...

Any thoughts?:goodvibes

I loved Cape May- thought the food was better than CM's and loved the cute beachwear the characters wore. There's no Mickey there, though (or wasn't when we went) so FYI. My choice would be Cape May!

We went to Chef Mickey's last year and were terribly disappointed. When we were there Mickey wasn't and they were charging people for a picture with a Mickey statue! Not sure if this was an every day thing or if Mickey called in sick but we were not impressed. This year we are trying Cape May, we've never been so can't attest for the food but I really think most of the breakfast buffet foods are the same with a signature dish thrown in. We are going in March...will let ya know

We have been to both Chef Mickeys and Cape May....and while I enjoy both the food at Cape May is significantly better. The characters at Cape May we saw...were Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. We actually think Cape May is the best buffet we have eaten at...at WDW...for both Breakfast and Dinner.

Cape May for sure.

So much less chaotic and the character interaction is great. On top of all that the food is much much better at Cape May.

IMHO Cape May is the best character breakfast on property.

Overall I like Chef Mickey's better, but i think you should try out a new place and go with Cape May. Plus it's in the BC which is a great place to look around!!

Hmmmm....We've always been a die hard Chef Mickeys family, but I've kicked around trying Cape May a few times. Is it a buffet? After reading this thread, we might have to consider Cape May more seriously.

Yes, it's a buffet. There's characters in the morning with regular American breakfast foods while dinner is also a buffet (but no characters) and they have seafood.

CAPE MAY!!! I can't stress that enough. CAPE MAY!!! The food and character interaction are far superior.

Thanks all!

We went with Cape May, and I am sure we will enjoy it! I am excited to see the Beach Club as we have never been.

Added ADR's for TRex, Akershus for Princess Lunch, "Ohana and Coral Reef...I think we are set!

We LOVED the breakfast buffett at Cape May. Everything was so good there, and the characters were very cute in their "beach gear". We like Chef Mickey's as well, but we had supper there, so I can't comment on their breakfast buffet.

We love Cape May Cafe breakfast. It is a must do everytime we go to Disney. The food is always hot and fresh and the character interaction and service is awesome. The characters really spend time with each and everyone at the table, it is one of the best character interactions for a character meal IMHO. If you have never done this breakfast before, I highly recommend doing so, you may also want to make a early reservation on a day you plan to either go to DHS or Epcot. Epcot is a short walk from BC and DHS is a nice boat ride away. Have a great time.

We like the breakfast at Cape May much more than CM. It is also a little more relaxed and not quite as hectic as CM (this is not a con for CM - it's just the way it is. We like both places).

Cape May our choice. Nice after an early entry to DHS or EPCOT.
Take the boat to the BC.

Bring crayons for your little ones.
None are provied by Cape May - BUT the children (and adults) may draw on the paper table clothes,
You never know what the CM's will tell/reward your chidlren for their drawings. Sometime magic happens :wizard:

Our DD way back in 2002 at Cape May was given a Disney pin from a CM for her art work on the paper table cloth. :goodvibes

We have been to Cape May many times and it is always fantastic, usually busy after 9am but very quiet from 8-9am. The characters are great, just the three of them but they come around often and are so cute in their bathing suits. Tons of food pics in my Nov 2010 thread

Been to Chef Mickeys once and it was awesome, loved all the food, the view ( a 2 seater by a window ) of Bay Lake was so nice, the characters were great as well. We were there at 10-11am and it was busy but not bad at all. Tons of pics of the food in my March 09 thread (I dont think it has changed at all)

If I had to pick I would say Cape May

I haven't eaten at Chef Mickey's before, but over Christmas we did breakfast at Cape May and all thoroughly loved it. We felt it's the best breakfast buffet we've had on property - *maybe* second to Boma. The character interaction was great, even though we were all adults. Goofy in particular had a blast squishing me and my sister together on the booth seat. If he looked around and we were back in "our seats" he'd come stomping over until we were clutching each other. Laughed so hard we were crying.

Can't wait to celebrate my first half marathon finish there on Sunday!! :)

We've been to both. We liked Cape May better, not the CM was bad. We probably wont do CM again, but Cape May we would do. The food was better, the character interaction was better and just the whole feel of Cape May was nicer and calmer.
