So this upcoming trip in 19-18 days I have an ADR for Cape May Cafe dinner. I am thinking about cancelling the ADR because my mom's not a huge Seafood person and I don't know what to think about this buffet. I have heard mixed reviews about it.

can anyone give me any recent reviews about this restaurant? did it recently change it's menu or get smaller for the dinner time? i think heard someone say that the breakfast got smaller choices/selections.
Pictures would be great!!!

I haven't done this in a while but I am not a seafood eater at all. I found land lover choices extremely limited but what was available was good. I did not think that land lovers get their $$ worth at this buffet. If your Mom isn't into sea food, I'd skip it and pick something else like Boma for a good buffet (probably the best on property).

My DH does not like seafood, and this is not his favorite place to eat, but they do have chicken, beef, salads, etc. I love it at Cape May!

If your mother isn't a seafood fan go somewhere else. We went in May and my (verify picky) DS13 at crackers...nothing else. DS4 ate even less. The other 5 of us made up for it but when I paid the bill it was painful to see what I paid for crackers!!!!!

I am not a huge seafood person and loved it. There was plenty of items other than seafood. There was chicken, ribs, a carving station, pasta dishes, salads, along with plenty of side dishes.

If your mom is not a big seafood fan she will still be able to find plenty of other offerings on the buffet table. The problem I have (IMO) is that the food is just not that good. Too me it's nothing more than your typical institutional quality buffet food pre-made for the masses that is of average quality at best with much of it below average; Golden Corral quality if you will. I also found the crab legs to be rather anorexic and stringy and failing to even meet the average quality crab legs I find here at our local Chinese buffet. But perhaps my opinion is tainted since I am not a buffet fan in general ( except Boma & a few breakfast buffets) and especially those in WDW. :goodvibes

We went last week and I will do a whole dining review of our week but I will have to say I did not like it sadly.

We have dined there before so I do have something to compare it to.

I only go to please dh since he loves crab legs.

I am not a huge seafood lover. I didnt see what was on the buffet as I let dh get my food due to my mobility issues.

There were 3 salad choices, seafood chowder was the only soup choice, They used to have 2 choices. They used to have potato and other salads. Now they just have cheese cubes and olives.

This is what he got me - some sliced beef which was good, mac and cheese, a chicken drumstick, green beans, a roll and some fried shrimp which was not what I am used to eating where I live. The coating was strange.

Oh the cold salads had the peel and eat shrimp.

The desserts were ok. They had way too many mini chocolate cupcakes. I always like the flan cups with fresh berries and the chocolate raspberry tarts. They said the seasonal thing was the pumpkin squares.

I would skip this place if I didnt want to make dh happy with his crab coma.
