We ate there this Sept. and mostly loved it. Its obviously not as good as seafood that was pulled out of the water next to your beach house ;) , but it was a delicious meal. Our server was great, but the lines at the buffet were horrendous - I wouldn't call it a relaxing meal :rotfl: . One scary thing is that 5 out of 7 of us were sick the night and day after this meal. My 5 yr old actually threw up in bed that night :scared1: , and others just felt bad most of the next day. I really think it was food related - thankfully it was not worse than it was. So .... even though we enjoyed the meal itself, we probably won't be back - I think some of us might get sick just from the memories :goodvibes .

I'm a seafood snob. :)

I've lived in New England my entire life (with the exception of those first 8 months in Texas) so I've always been hesitant about trying Cape May. We thought about it for our upcoming trip but I just couldn't talk myself into adding it to the list.

I have seen some really good reviews as of late, but none of those seem to be coming from New Englanders.

Hi
We were there in August and really enjoyed it. My DD loved the little clams. I don't eat meat, but ate shrimp and had plenty of other stuff to eat. The mashed potatoes were really delicious. My DNieces enjoyed the meat that they ate. The oreo bon bons are the best!!! My DH and I will be eating here in Dec.:thumbsup2

I love the New England Clam Chowder there. The Oreo Bon Bons rock also!!!

That is NOT New England clam chowder. It doesn't even look like it and does not taste like it either.

I'm originally from Cape Cod. To my family and I, It was not a good experience. I posted a review on our dinner there earlier. We won't be going there again.

If you are from a non seafood area you may enjoy it as everyone has their own tastes but if you are from New England and a clam lover, I would pass. It's definately NOT a New England Clam Bake.

We love Cape May's. My oldest doesn't like clams so he stuck to the American side of the buffet while my youngest and I ate bowls of clams! We've got an ADR for November!

I love it, I love the Clam Chowder, shrimp, mussels and little clams. I top it off with the great cornbread that they serve...it's one of my favorite restaurants. I don't save room for deserts, that's fine.

Bobbi :goodvibes

Was worried about booking a reservation at the Clambake because of so many mixed ratings but the food was great and everyone in our party liked it very much.

Worst meal we've ever had at WDW. Maybe being from New Orleans we're used to great seafood, but it was not even on par with Red Lobster. DS(15) at the time couldn't even find anything he liked. He normally eats anything resembling food.:sad2:

Will go there anytime, it's great there.

Of course, I live in ND so fresh seafood is not available to me here. That being said we enjoyed the buffet enough so that we have gone back again. The dessert selection is amazing.

I went there on my birthday 9-8 of this year. I had reservations and had to wait an additional 45 minutes.

Being from New England it really isn't a "clambake". I did not enjoy the clam chowder. The clams were good but we were there at the end of the evening and kept getting empty shells and they didn't seem to replenish the pot.

The desserts were great. I didn't really enjoy many of the other offerings there. The flow of the buffet is awful. I will def not be going back. Not when I can go to buffets at WDW like CP and Boma.
