I have a 9:00 a.m. ADR for Cape May Cafe breakfast. It will be our first time there and I'd love to hear your reviews. Pics would be great too!

Cape May was our favorite breakfast! It is the typical Disney breakfast buffet food but it is so much better than most of the other buffets. The food was fresh and hot, the buffet was clean, the restaurant was quiet and low key, the characters were wonderful and made it around twice both mornings we ate there and the servers were very attentive. The breakfast pizza, veggie omelet and bread pudding were delicious. The fruit was also some of the freshest and sweetest we had all week.

We're going for breakfast there for the first time later this year. I picked it over another popular character meal (1) because I wanted to do some different things this time and (2) because it has pretty good to outstanding reviews. :)

Cape May Cafe breakfast is the most relaxed character meal in WDW, IMO. The character interaction is superb (you will see Minnie, Goofy & Donald in their swimwear), the service is great, the food is standard breakfast buffet fare - nothing special, IMHO.

I think the character interaction is great and we had good service too. The food?:sick: Eggs were awful - strangely watery and appeared to be made from a powder, quite a bit of the food was cold, and there wasn't much in the way of variety compared to some other buffets (boma, crystal palace). I would go if you want a fun character interaction and would deal with subpar food. of course, we have only been there once for breakfast (too many good options and our bad experience turned us off) so perhaps we hit a bad day or things have improved.

We really enjoy the Cape May breakfast, one of our must-dos. Decent, neat buffet along with a lox & bagel station. Good, relaxed interaction with the characters.

We were just there yesterday morning for breakfast and enjoyed it as we usually do. We had a late reservation at 10:55 but arrived a little early (10:40) and actually sat within 5 minutes of checking in.

When we went up to the buffet many items were in need of replenishment but within a few minutes most items were replenished except for the pastries. I'm sure if I would have asked for something in particular our server would have gotten it. There was plenty of fresh fruit, eggs, eggs with ham, eggs florentine and this skillet french toast (aka: bread pudding) can you say yum, yum, yum!! That stuff was addicting. Most of your standard fare is here. And I did get a chance at a fresh Mickey waffle (nothing like a fresh Mickey waffle!!)

Service was good, the food was good and the characters were fun. We even got to see them twice which usually happens when you eat there later. We sat right next to the buffet which was very convenient. We like Cape May because we find the food satisfying, the atmosphere is fun, yet relaxing. I do really prefer the variety at Park Fare because there is so much on their buffet but I like the casual feel of Cape May.

I have a review on my website from our last trip. Check under the resort's section under Beach Club.

Many of the food items were still the same yesterday but I do have some updated photos to put up from yesterday's breakfast. You'll enjoy, it's great for kids and adults.:thumbsup2

I can't tell you enough good stuff about CMC breakfast!! It's DD19 and DH's favorite meal. I set it up for us before DH arrived and DD loved it so much she had me plan another one for when he got there so he could have it too. For someone who doesn't really care for things Disney, he was loving it!!

The food is awesome! The character interaction is great (DS20 and Goofy were practically running around the tables)! The service was great! Needless to say, I think it's a great place for all ages. ;)

Thanks so very much for the replies so far. We aren't big breakfast eaters but I only had one character meal booked this trip and wanted to have at least one more. I also wanted to check out the resort itself.

Keep those reviews coming!

Oh you'll love the resort. It's beautiful. We stayed stayed at the villas this past weekend and really love it there. It's such a serene resort with so many great amenities. The main poos (SAB) is the probably the biggest attraction there so if you're going during "swim" season you can't beat it! I enjoyed the lazy river. Although not a big lazy river it was just right as I could keep my eye on my dd while she was at the kiddie area playing in the sand.

Dh and I were able to relax and have a drink at our chairs while keeping an eye on her. There were servers coming around to take food/drink orders from Hurricane Hana's.

The location is also great. It would take us just a few minute walk to get into Epcot and HS was a quick boat ride away. Saturday after we had enough of the crowds at HS we got on the boat and went to the BW and had a nice late lunch at ESPN.

I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a chance to go to B&C this trip. I really missed my ice cream sundae!:sad1: But, we did try an appetizer at the Crew's Cup at the YC and it was quite yummy.

Not only is the BC/BCV/YC a beautiful resort but the Epcot resort area in itself is an attraction because there's so much to do within walking distance.:thumbsup2

Bagel & lox at breakfast ...... :worship:

I know, it sounds like we don't have much imagination :lmao: ... but we really wanted to find a buffet with a large selection of healthy choices as well as more exotics like gravlax, etc... something that would get us off on the right start each morning... and cape May Cafe really delivered!

If you are sensitive to changes in your diet, then this is especially a great breakfast because there is just so much to choose from.

Travelling means rich foods, which you can certainly find on this buffet, but you can also get oatmeal, nuts, raisins, almost any fruit you can imagine, cold cereal, simple scrambled eggs, toast, fresh asparagus, yogurt, etc.

For those who do like richer stuff: assorted muffins, pastry, bagels, croissants, breakfast pizza, numerous kinds of sausages, bacon, etc.

Drinks: I am a skim milk drinker, and it is hard to get skim milk anywhere in the World.
I don't like sodas or caffeine, so this is my beverage of choice and they catered to my needs.
I am a giant crab without my milk :headache: !
They brought me an ENORMOUS glass of skim milk every morning, which gave me my daily supply and made me a very happy camper for the day. :woohoo:

What can I say, if you have a picky eater or someone who is health conscious, then this is a great start to the day- there is something for everyone and it is all very good.

We had a great breakfast here the only difference here is that it is quiet.

The character interaction was great and the staff was nice but the food wasn't very good or good at all. The eggs were disguisting, didn't know they didn't have an omelet station. I had an old menu. The selection was very minimal. The bread/pastry stuff was okay. I wouldn't return.

As others have said, the service and characters were great. We're a couple with no kids, and our server went out of her way to make sure she was always around when the characters were there to take a picture of both of us with the character. The characters seemed extra friendly, too, which is not always the case with an adult couple.

That being said, the food was disappointing. No fresh egg station (for omlettes or fried eggs) like Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fare have. That makes a big difference to me --to have cold runny scrambled eggs for $25 is just wrong. Yes, paying $25 for nice hot "two eggs over light" is sort of wrong, too, but much less so. :) I know you're paying for the characters, and on the dining plans the cost gets blurred a bit, but to have that person there making the eggs to order is a big deal to us.

Drinks: I am a skim milk drinker, and it is hard to get skim milk anywhere in the World.

FYI - we're skim milk drinkers too and we've been able to get skim milk at I think every buffet we've eaten at (breakfast and dinner - need a glass of milk for chocolate desserts at night), and we've eaten at most of them.
