We have dined at Cape May for breakfast and dinner many times but I have to say in the last 2 trips there dinner has been very disappointing. We notice the food was put out at 5 but they dont seat people until 30 minutes later, so if you do go for dinner go at 6:30 when they have had time to replenish the food and get it hot and fresh...another tip is to get the clams.mussels first because they go very quickly, same with the clam chowder..once it is gone it takes forever to replenish. My fav is the roasted chicken breasts, BBQ ribs, fried talapia and corn bread but only if it is soft and moist...they recently placed it on the hot plates instead of where the rolls and bread are so it gets dried out fast.
We love breakfast and tend to go before 8 am...excellent stuff and my fav is the yogurt bar and bread pudding. At that hour the place is about empty so you get alot of character time. We did a 10 am ressie last month and the place was slammed crowded and we did not get to see Chip and Dale.
It is totally worth leaving the parks for, I think resorts have better restaurants...
After dinner we usually stroll the walkway to the YC, Swan and Dolphin, BW and then to Epcot..a nice long walk helps me digest a big meal
