I haven't heard much about the Cape May Buffet (dinner) on the threads. Has anyone been recently that could give an opinion about it? Is it worth the 1 TS or should I look elsewhere? :confused3

It's pretty good if you like seafood. My family typically has dinner there once every couple trips, especially if we're staying in the Epcot resort area. It's convenient, and it's usually not too difficult to secure a reservation, even on short notice.

The food isn't incredible, but it's not bad either. I love mussels and clams, so I am pretty choosy about my shellfish. The fare at Cape May definitely satisfies that craving.

It also has an extensive dessert bar with individual chocolate lava cakes served by a chef.

Hope this helps!

We wnet to the dinner buffet for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. We are not real into seafood, but there were plenty of options. The ribs were very good.

We LOVED it. We ate there in January and left SO STUFFED I could have cried :rotfl2: And we are not huge seafood eaters (I like fish only and dh likes pretty much just shrimp/lobster/crab legs) and there was still soooo much to eat. Make sure to have the Oreo bon bons! We are already booked to eat there again in October because I know my parents are gonna love it.

We LOVE cape may...we go there every time and it has become a regular place for us and family. If you love steamers and such, it is great. BUT even if you don't, the other food is still great. I don't eat steamers, but I love the ribs, chicken, fish, sausage, sides, soups, salads, cold shrimp, etc, etc, etc. And...the Oreo Bon-Bons on the dessert bar...HEAVEN!!! I think it is totally worth the TS credit. :)

One of our favorites. I don't eat seafood (DD and DW do), and I love the "land" side of the buffet. The desserts are great, but I'd be happy if the only dessert they served was the Oreo bon-bon.

Can you elaborate on the chocolate lava cakes??? We've been to Cape May many times (Oct09 last time, going again in Aug and Oct) and I don't remember ever having anything like this in the past.

My kids don't eat seafood, but still request going there every trip. Pretty laid back for a WDW buffet, nice setting, good service.

 Cape May is great! We love the buffet, we like having the variety of both seafood (Their lobster tortellini...yum) and 'land' food (one word: ribs). The atmosphere is really great, service is fantastic, and I am also going to say that the oreo bon bons are heaven on a plate.

It is on our list of places we always go to every time. My husband loves seafood, but me and my 2 boys do not and we all leave there stuffed!... I think they have a great selection aside from seafood... We love it there!

My DH and I ate here on our honeymoon in October and fell in love with the buffet. Although he likes seafood, he wasn't in a seafood mood that night but he was able to find plenty of other food to eat. I loved the mussels as well as the soups. We will be returning to Cape May again. :)

I think i'm the only one who didn't like it. Maybe its bc i'm from NE and go to real clam bakes a lot. The seafood isn't very good quality, and their new england clam chowder is really just putrid. Dessert was pretty good however, they have some great choices.

We went Saturday night and really enjoyed it! I liked the seafood! They also had pork and steak at the carving station which was good. The only drawback was that we were STUFFED! At $30.99 per person we were trying to get our moneys worth ;)

We love Cape May......we usually do a dinner and a breakfast there each trip :goodvibes. Even for those who don't like seafood, there are plenty of other things to choose from as the buffet has quite a bit of variety ;).

You are not the only one. I just mentioned Cape May in the thread "places people rave about that you make you say, "Really?" We've eaten at CM twice and thought it wasn't good at all, especially the seafood. Desserts were fab, but that is about it.

My husband and I love seafood so this was a great fit for us. As all have mentioned there are plenty of choices for everyone. Even if you don't like seafood, there will be something that fits your taste. We have a DD5 who is pretty picky and there were plenty of choices for her as well. On our list again for this year. Definitely worth a try!

This was the one "must do again" request by DS13, we both really loved it, service was great, plentiful buffet with lots of healthy choices (if you even worry about that on vacation!) and on the flip side (of healthy) the oreo bon bons live up to the hype!!!
