How is the character breakfast at Cape May? I read on allearsnet.com that the characters are Minnie, Chip, Dale, and Goofy. Is this correct? I'm thinking of going there for DD's birthday. How's the character interaction? We are deciding between Chef Mickey's and Cape May. Any info is appreciated!

Been twice and enjoyed the food both times. You're correct on the characters and have had pretty good interaction with them. Minnie has been stationed at the entrance both times we went.

We went there at the beginning of December with our whole family... my parents, sis and her hubby and my hubby and 2 kids, ages 7 months and 5 yrs. This was our first time there for the character breakfast. The food was good. The character interaction was great. On the day we went, Minnie was walking around the tables. She spent alot of time with my DD. Minnie is her favorite character, even at 7 months she knows her Disney LOL. She was so excited! Minnie came back several times to play with both kids and she even taught DD how to wave bye-bye. We had been trying to teach her but something about being with Minnie just made it click :) DD has been waving to everyone she sees ever since then.

We've been to Chef Mickeys many times. It's also pretty good, but the characters seem more rushed there. It's also a much bigger restaurant and hectic. CM seemed more relaxed to me.

We went to Cape May while staying at BCV. Our DD (4) is a pretty picky eater but she loves breakfast foods and we were thrilled at the selections. For her, there were waffles, pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, bagels, cereal and yogurt. She was in breakfast heaven.

We ate around 8:30 AM on a Thursday and it was not crowded. The character interaction was probably the best of any of the Character Meals we did (we also did Chef Mickey Dinner, LTT Dinner, Restaurantosaurus Breakfast, Crystal Palace Breakfast).

Minnie spent a lot of time with our DD. Not just standing but Minnie sat in the booth next to her and played with our DD and her characters (our DD doesn't travel without her characters to play with). Minnie actually stayed so long that our DD looked up at her and said "goodbye". :-)

Goofy was great and so were Chip and Dale. Hands down for the combination of food and character interaction, it was one of (if not the) best meals we had.

It is pretty calm there as others have said. Great food, good character interaction, thought limited really to chip-dale-goofy(minnie up-front). We go there almost every trip.

Much more laid back than Chef Mickey's. We love CM's but Cape May is quieter since it is smaller. Our first trip there a year ago for breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Then we had dinner there on 11/27. It wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped. We had breakfast there on 12/1 and it was just okay. For some reason, our food was lukewarm at best. They started serving at 7:30 and we were seated at 7:40 so I can't figure out how the stuff got so cold so fast. But, we will be going back I'm sure.

The character interaction is some of the best we have encountered at WDW. We actually got to the point that Chip and Dale just waved at us as they would go by...they had already stopped at our table about 3 times at this point! And it was one of the few places where the servers asked if they could take our family picture with the character. Very nice.

We were at Cape May on 11/30 and Chef Mickeys on 12/1. We thought the food at Cape May was superior in quality and taste. Chef Mickeys is really a party place, louder, more people, less charachter interaction, but very nice and great atmosphere in the Contemporary. Cape May was much more relaxed, more charachter interaction and quiet. They both are fun, it just depends on your individual preferance.

Thanks for all the replies. Cape May it is. We've done Chef Mickey's for dinner, so I think it will be good to try a new place. Another question - does anyone know if Cape May does anything special for birthdays?

I Don't know if they do anything special fo rBirthday's but it's Disney! I'm sure they must.

I also like the Cape May breakfast, I went with my fiancee and it was fun.

Being from Jersey, we thought it was a perfect place to go! We both thought it was hilarious that at the Cape May resturaunt they had a sign up for a New Englang Style Clambake. :-)
