Cape May at the last minute?

We're staying at BCV June 2-9, and all of our ADR's are set.

We're traveling with small kids, and it's possible they may tire out in the middle of the day, especially if it's hot. If we decide to head back to the condo early, is it possible to get eleven of us into Cape May's? Or does it need to be reserved far in advance like the park restaurants?

I'll start out by saying that anything is possible. But, the first week in June starts to get busy. Lots of school systems let out in late May. I've been that week twice and, while the crowds are tolerable, it certainly wasn't as nice as May. Trying to get a seating on the fly with 11 people will be difficult at some of the more popular restaurants. You *might* be able to do it, but I would make an ADR there just for backup.

I would think that with so many people you would have to make a reservation. DH and I were able to walk right in this past Feb, right at 5:30 when they opened and the place was jammed packed. THe CM said they had a cancellation....

That's what I was afraid of. I guess I'm trying to come up with a contingency plan if the kids are tuckered out. (Most of the time in the past this hasn't been a problem.) BUT we'll be on DDP, which makes it harder to have backup plans for TS. Any thoughts?

11 walking up with no reservation would be hard at most restaurants in June. I'd definitely make a reservation - otherwise you won't get in.
