I think we're taking a budget (non-Disney :::gasp:::) trip for 4 days to the Cape in June right when school lets out. We're looking at the Tidewater Inn in W Yarmouth. Anyone have any experience with that particular property?

And any suggestions for things to do with the kids? It's been a while since we've been to the Cape! Thanks! :goodvibes

Fun, free things to do on Cape Cod. Nickerson State Park on Route 6A in Brewster offers pond swimming, fishing and a picnic area absolutely free. At the entrance to the park there is free parking for the Cape Cod Rail Trail for hiking or biking. Be sure to stop at the Brewster General Store also on Route 6A for some penny candy. Great little store!
Off Route 6 in Eastham, the Capt. Penniman House (a whaling captain and his family lived here) and the Fort Hill Overlook are great places to explore and enjoy the breathtaking view. Free! We make a small donation if the house is open.
The Salt Pond Visitors Center in Eastham on Route 6 has a small museum, short movies about the cape and a walking trail for the blind that's fun for eveyone. All Free!

Cape Cod Baseball League games are free too!

It's a nice place to stay it's pretty central.i would also recommend the red jacket resort right down the road it may be a little obit more but it has a private beach which is so nice it's were we always stay unless we go in the winter when they are closed. They also have daily kids programs which are free

Did u check out the Rivera beach resort? It's owned by red jacket and right next door

There is always something free or cheap to do on the Cape! There is always the bike path at the canal. My dad would always want to go this time of year there were never any crowds at the beach:lmao:. I should have went more when I lived 50 miles away now I am a thousand miles oh well!

I remember going to the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory when I was little. You can do a self guided tour of the factory for free.

another vote for Riviera beach resort ( a red jacket resort)..........my kids LOVE the "mushroom" pool.......LOL
we go every summer, and spend most of our time at the resort swimming :)
as far as things to do.........
I don't know how old your kids are but there is a pretty good mini golf place, Pirates Cove........there is a ZooQuarium, but its been awhile since we went there........the Penniman House in Eastham is interesting, and a beautiful spot..........Hyannis has the JFK museum, cape cod chips, and touristy shops on the main st
If you venture out to Eastham you can check out the national seashore too:thumbsup2

my kids loved the children's museum in mashpee??? Not for sure if that was the town, but I am sure you could google it. All hands on play areas. They also remember going to Provincetown and climbing the Pilgrim monument and the pirate museum there on the wharf. One of our favorite trips:)
