Cape Cod - Must see & do things...

A few other ideas:

See a show at the Melody Tent.

Go to the JFK Museum, Main St, Hyannis.

Eat at Baxter's, outside on the water.

Take a drive along Rt 6A, the "old Cape", neat shops and Barnstable Harbor, etc. Also take a drive through the back roads of Hyannisport, Craigsville, Osterville, Centerville, etc. (Cannot go down private road of Kennedy Compound, but can drive by it.) Get an ice cream at Four Seas.

Take a Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory tour - short, and free chips at the end.

Ride carousel at the Cape Cod Mall.

I think someone else mentioned going to Christmas Tree Shops.

A pp mentioned Cape Cod Railroad.

She could take a scenic boat ride out of Hyannis Harbor.

Arnold's in Eastwick is delicious!!! Seafood & mini-golf!

Chatham Lighthouse, some days they have tours.

Whale watching out of P-town, just a great way to spend a day, rain or shine.

Make sure you see something at the Melody Tent:cool1:

The National Seashore is just beautiful!!!

If she is looking for a great seafood restaurant in Hyannis she should try Cooke's. It's on Route 132 just down the road from the Cape Cod Mall. It's a casual restaurant where you order at the counter and they bring your order to you when it's ready. Prices are reasonable and the food is delicious.

I lived in Hyannis for a few years and have been back every year since. Love it there! Here are a few places we never miss:

-Main Street in Hyannis - lots of little shops. Don't miss the Kandy Korner (next to the First Baptist Church).
-Provincetown
-Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory (not a can't miss, but fun on a rainy day)
-Four Seas Ice Cream (In Centerville... very close to Hyannis)
-Cape Cod National Seashore
-Rail Trails for biking (there are rental places along the trail)

Most of our time is spent enjoying the lakes and beaches (we really like Craigville Beach and Kalmus Beach). There are lots of tours (kayaking, seal/whale watching, etc.) that are lots of fun as well.

If she likes ice cream, tell her "Don't skip Sundae School". I think it's in Harwich or West Dennis.

Now that we know her age: definately Pufferbellies or Trader Eds for happy hour!

They can hop on the H20 (aka Breeze) bus to Patriots Square in South Dennis and do the Rail Trail ~~ they can rent bikes where they get on the bike path just a short walk from the bus stop. If they want, they could also connect from the Eastham stop, throw their bikes on the bus bike rack, and continue on to Provincetown, all for about $8 RT plus bike rental.

There's the drive-in in Wellfleet that can be lots of fun. Best beaches for young girls would be SeaGull in West Yarmouth or Kalmus in Hyannis.

Good night bar for Blues is Harrys in Hyannis or the British Brew Company. They both have decent food ~ Sam Diegos Mexican has a nice bar, great Margueritas and good food too.

They should check the Melody Tent for a concert when visiting, occasionally there'd be someone for that age group.

love 6a , it is so quaint, and there are some really nice shops. Theres a little spot called Captain Frostys, they have good food, reasonable prices.

love christmas tree shops, especially the one with the big windmill right over the bridge :thumbsup2

Arnolds in Eastham is great food, nice mini golf oh and we Love Coast Guard Beach too!
the Beachcomber at Cahoon Hollow is fun too:thumbsup2

OOO I loved Pufferbellies when I was her age. It is HUGE!
If they decide to go on a whale watch make sure she takes Bonine or Dramamine WAY before she goes or she'll be chummin'

If she is staying in Hyannis Spiritus Pizza has the best pizza around. It's located at 10 Seaboard Lane, Hyannis, MA.

The Welfleet Drive-In is a great thing to do at night and it's only $8.00 a person for 2 movies. There are also lots of mini golf places.

Cape Cod Potato chip factory is free but it is very short. You walk through a hallway and watch them make chips. At the end you are filtered into a small gift shop. You can take a few small bags of chips for free.

If she is around on Friday have her get a Cape Cod Times newspaper. There are always programs at the National Seashore and there are always a lot of activities, festivals, etc. going on. Main Street in Hyannis often has things going on at night once or twice a week in the summer.

The Boardwalk in Sandwich is a great place to spend the day at the beach. The Boardwalk is about 1300 feet long and there are messages on all of the planks. During high tide people jump off the boardwalk and people always ride around in inner tubes. At the end of the boardwalk there is a nice ocean beach. If she goes be sure to tell her there can be a strong rip tide right over the Boardwalk where the people jump from.
