Cape Canaveral in one Day?

WE are cruising in August and are planning our flights. If we get off the ship early and head over to cape Canaveral for the day will there be enough time for us there with a 7 pm flight? Any ideas of suggestions would be great. I was thinking we would have from 10 until 4. Thanks for your ideas.

We did the same thing after our first cruise. We rented a car and enjoyed the Imax, bus tour and exhibits at the Space center. I believe we had a 6pm flight and had no problems dropping off the car and checking in on time. Mind you that was pre 9/11 so you may want to add in extra security check in time at the airport.

First, HI SHIRLEY!!!!!! Glad you got the pictures - will definitely be counting you in for the June pilgrimage!

Secondly, yes, you can do the Cape in that time - we enjoyed the KSC immensely. No we didn't do everything, but saw as much as we could and just enjoyed the overall atmosphere rather than try to absorb all the information available.

We were going to run around Cocoa Beach and look for the "I Dream of Jeannie" stuff, but Shirley clued us in about it and we didn't bother. There is a lot to see there and we immensely enjoyed our Friday evening/Saturday morning there - highlight, of course, was stopping by The Perfect Gift. Now that's definitely worth a side trip!!!!
But Shirley, those Southern drivers!!!! Next time, I think we are going to ride our horses down! We might not be able to pack as much but it would be scenic!

Hi Rae - looking forward for that special trip - anyhow there is a lot to do in Cocoa Beach per say and mostly not becoming a target for these drivers - I remember when I could drive my motorcycle down A1A and not have any problem - now I wouldn't even take a tricycle on the sidewalk - believe it or not most of the travelers are vistors from all over in fact Cape Canaveral has exploded with progress - I brought here 6 years ago cause it was "sane" - oh well -
The "I love Jeannie" stuff really doesn't exist - years ago a street was named as such, then taken down for many years and when people realized it was gone, put it up again - I see it so often and I really was a fan of that program.
Anyhow to those that do come down and need entertainment - just stop by the shop
Hugsssssss to all and STAY WARM AND SAFE - we now have started our COLD weather ----and everybody knows I freeze at 70 degrees ---I keep looking for snow and realize I am in sunny Florida --yea right
