What is the capacity of Disneyland? Average and max?

What about Halloween Party? How crazy will it be on a crowd level rating of 1 to 10?

Thanks!

I don't know if is known what the capacity of Disneyland is, exactly.

The party does not contain crowds akin to a 'normal' capacity day at Disneyland (which would be a day in between Christmas and New Year's, most of the time). It has its own crowds, and no one knows how many people are allowed into the party. It will be crowded, but not like a day between Christmas and New Year's. However, it's kind of relative because many people think that there are too many tickets sold to MHP, so it is more crowded than a hard ticket event should be, but not crowded like a hugely crowded day at Disneyland would be.

So, I don't know what number rating to give you, other than, obviously, a capacity day at Disneyland would be a 10. I know that everyone wants to figure out exactly how crowded it is going to be, but honestly much of it is subjective and based on personal perspectives, etc. What one person thinks is too crowded is going to be what another person deems as "not that bad."

The 3 hours leading up to the start of the party will be very crowded.

I've wondered this about sold out MHP's as well. So a sold out night is not as crowded as a 10 day at the park?

Correct. There is a limited number of tickets for each night of MHP -- it's just that no one knows exactly how many are sold or given out for each party night, but there are fewer people in the park than what you would find on a 10 day. A 10 day at the park (like during that infamous week between Christmas and New Year's) is a different level of crowded, but a sold out MHP is just crowded for a hard ticket event. It's a less ominous kind of crowded.

Yeah it never seems crowded to me, even when sold out (the parties). I think it's because most people are in line for candy or for characters, so the rides are still so short for waiting!

And a person's expectations have a lot to do with how crowded MHP feels. People expect the week between Christmas and New Year's to be maximum capacity crowds, so they are mentally prepared. But there are always reports every year from people who expected an empty to nearly empty park and complain bitterly about how packed the party was.

Definitely. It works both ways. I find that when I/we tell people to expect big crowds at whichever tme, someone will inevitably come back and say that it wasn't bad at all. I remember one time, several years ago, when someone came back after visiting between Christmas and New Year's and was almost annoyed with me that I had told him it would be very busy! :lmao: He defiantly stated that he had a great time, as though that was going to disappoint me because I had told him to expect big crowds. It would have been crazy to not mention the big post-Christmas/pre-New Year's crowds, but it's great that he didn't find them intolerable.

And then, on the other hand, if we tell people, "It's not that crowded," or "It won't be that crowded," inevitably someone will come back and say it was the most crowded they've ever seen the parks, and they're going to skip that time of year in the future.

There's no winning, whatever info we give out! :lmao:

We just got home from the Halloween party. Between 5-6 the park felt crowded but right around 6 we saw wait time for Splash Mtn was 15 min and Star Tours and Astro Blaster were walk on when we made our way over to that end of the part around 8. It was a great night! The park is looking magnificent decorated and lit for H'ween. Also, we thought the fireworks were amazing.

We were at the party Oct 6th, the lines for rides weren't bad, but walking places was tough. We came to a standstill between the River and Haunted Mansion area. But it seemed that way our entire trip. It was our first trip to Disneyland so I don't have anything to compare.

I think because everything is roped off it feels kind of crowded but imo it's not all that crowded. For example when it's time for the parade there is plenty of time to pick a curb side spot where as any regular day you have to save your spot early on. There are lines but when don't they have lines? We spend most of our life waiting in line. That's just the way it is. Just depends on what means more to you and if your willing to wait for that attraction. The crowds don't keep me back. I seem to have more fun & do a lot more on a crowded day for some weird reason. Lol
