Thanks everyone for your super kind words, your prayers, your pixie dust, and your cheering! You all are so special to me. I enjoy visiting your "dis-homes" every day. Your encouragement means more than you could ever know! :grouphug:

So, here is an update on Brian. After having X-rays done it was discovered that the stone had not moved at all since Thursday when the CT scan was done. He had to have the stone surgically removed yesterday. It was quite the ordeal. They had to put in a stint because his kidneys were so backed up. He was put under with anesthesia for the procedure, and then got EXTREMELY sick from the anesthesia after coming back out of it. This morning he woke up a brand new man! He now feels amazingly better, and is no longer in pain, grumpy or irritable. :cool1: He will have to go back under anesthesia again next week to have the stint removed. But we are all just so grateful that the worst is over. AND we are all so grateful that this didn't happen on vacation! :scared1:

And speaking of vacation... over the weekend we hit the TEENS on our countdown!!! :dance3: As of today, we are just 16 days from vacation!!! :yay: Do you know what will make LEAVING vacation this year easier? WE leave to come back home on October 11...exactly one year from our sail away date on the Disney Fantasy!!! :boat: :woohoo:

Good morning oopsi. So glad your DH is better and on the road to recovery; I wanted to post earlier but life got in the way; have sent prayers for DH and your DD; hang in there and keep praying for her; my youngest DS had a terrible time in middle school; many issues affected his grades; but he has since taken off in high school and made great friends; lots of time on the knees in prayer! Keep your chin up, keep encouraging her and getting her to talk; she will find her way. She has great parents and siblings that surround her.

I am so excited for your vacay coming up! I did not see your last PM; PM away, I have so much to share!!!

HOOOOOOOOOOOORAY!!!! ON NOT HAVING A GRUMPY HUSBAND! what's that like anyhow??? :rotfl:

So happy he is doing so so much better!!!

OHHHHHHHH one year! i know how that feels now!!! :cool1:

can't wait to plan WITH you!

you can never get rid of me.... :joker:

Yay, glad Brian is doing so much better. :goodvibes I totally understand getting sick under anesthesia, happens to me too. Have him ask the doctor to give him some anti-nausea meds before the next procedure and that should help him immensely.

:cool1: for 16 days, your trip is coming up so fast!

Okay, I got all my responses done and an update to my TR, and I come here and read your awesome news that you no longer have a Grumpy husband. That is awesome. :thumbsup2

I'm glad he is feeling better...and yay for only 16 days.

OR she comes up for a spring get together?

Oooh - now there's a thought... That would be awesome!

I cannot wait to carry my D~ bag with pride down Main St. You, of all my Disfriends, understands just how special Wishes is for our family, and you captured it all so perfectly on my bag.

I am just waiting for you and your girls to show up for movie night some time! :hourglass I have been inviting you for TWO YEARS! :upsidedow You know you are always welcome! :thumbsup2

I cannot WAIT to hear about you carrying your bag up Main Street for Wishes!!! And I DEFINATELY want I Spy photos for my album!!!! More than anything - I want you all to create the most magical memories! :lovestruc

Oh - and we will - trust me... Just waiting for the right theme to be chosen. popcorn::

Well, I haven't really let anyone know what has been going on with us in the last week. Let's just say, it has been a VERY rough week.

Gabe and Charity started a new school this year. Charity has really be struggling academically. She failed the first two tests she took at the new school. She immediately began going to tutoring in the mornings before classes started. Last week they got progress reports, and she had straight A's. We THOUGHT she had finally adjusted and things were on the upswing. Then yesterday, she brought home another failed test! :headache: It is just very frustrating. She is a smart girl, we know that. She is just having a terrible time adjusting to a new way of learning things. She has done the same type of curriculum since she was three years old.

On top of all of this, Brian got hit with a kidney stone last week! :scared: He started the process of passing it last Thursday morning...and it STILL has not passed!!!! :scared1: The meds they gave him to take have make him terribly nauseous. So they gave him meds for nausea. Nothing is working. They tell him to drink lots of fluids. He does drink lots of fluids....and nothing stays down. This morning he had ex-rays taken...and the stone has traveled back up to his kidney! :sad2: He is currently visiting a urologist to find out what the next step should be.

Any prayers you want to say for our family would be much appreciated. :flower3:

Hugs to Charity... We moved to our current house/town when the girls were in 2nd and 3rd grade - it pains me to say that it took Victoria YEARS to adjust and settle - it was NOT an easy move and transition for her. There are still many things she struggles with. I pray that Charity's transition is much easier than Victoria's was.

I was very happy to hear that Brian is feeling better... I was saying lots of prayers for him, until I got to your post that he is doing much better this morning. What a relief! I can't imagine the pain he was in. Praise the Lord this didn't happen while on vacation.

Thank you so much for your prayers and your encouraging words! We, as parents, know that our kids will go through things, and that they will eventually "find their way", but sometimes it is just so hard. Your prayers and encouragement mean so much to me! :flower3:

So, I think I finally got on the same page as you, and we are pm'ing again. You are a wealth of knowledge, and I greatly appreciate it! BTW~could you PM me your name (other than Texan)? I feel like we a friends now, I would love to know your "real" name. :thumbsup2

It feels so good to have my loving hubby back! Between his excruciating pain and my "monthly visitor" that showed up...we were NOT getting along at all for a few days! :sad2: Yesterday, Charity even said to Brian "Daddy, you're just so happy again." yeah, it was BAD!

Why would I want to get rid of you? :confused3 I am trying to figure out how to finally get to meet you IRL...you are a very fun addition to my Dis-life! :rotfl2:

Well, apparently Brian was still very much "under the influence" when they talked about having the stint taken out this week sometime. We talked about it last night, and he had not realized that he would have to go under again to have it removed. He became a nervous wreck, and made himself sick just thinking about it. Poor guy, I totally ruined his weekend after THAT conversation. :rolleyes1

Okay, I got all my responses done and an update to my TR, and I come here and read your awesome news that you no longer have a Grumpy husband. That is awesome. :thumbsup2

Kathy, you have had two trips back to back, and your reports are just going full speed ahead. I am doing my very best to keep up. :thumbsup2 I do hope to meet you and Mark in hopefully pretty near future! :goodvibes

Glad he is on his way to recovery!

Thanks! Me too! :rolleyes1

D~ I cannot wait to get that "I Spy" photo for you!!! :yay:

Charity is going to tutoring every day now, so hopefully that will help. We do what we can as parents, but sometimes they just have some things to figure out themselves. Tough stuff sometimes! :guilty:

Vacation is getting SO CLOSE. We are so giddy with excitement!!!! :dance3:

we are one H.E. double hockey sticks of a group aren't we?

YES WE ARE!!!! :grouphug:

After suffering such a terrible week, we ended up having a fantastic weekend together, as a family. We didn't really do anything extraordinary. It just felt good to relax and enjoy each other this weekend. We DID have a family birthday celebration Sunday...but more on that in the next post... popcorn::

Saturday, I busied myself in the kitchen baking a cake for the birthday. My girls put out our fall decorations. This was the first year they did it all without my assistance. I was so proud of them, they did a GREAT job. Wanna see?

UGH! The picture did not look blurry on my cruddy little camera...nor did cruddy little camera alert me that it was blurry the way it was supposed to! :headache: Well, that was the buffet in the dining room.

Here is the table:

And here is my favorite part...can you guess why?

After seeing Disney Halloween decorations on CHEEKYPOPPINS' TR I had decoration envy. :rolleyes1 So, I mentioned in my comments on her report that I NEEDED some sort of Disney magic to add to my decor. Pluto0809 was kind enough to let me know CVS was the place to go. That is where I found the cute Mickey inserts for the pumpkin. Don't worry, I showed my appreciation to Pluto0809 by pressuring her to buy another SerendipiD~ bag. You are very welcome, Pluto0809! :rotfl2: :lmao:

Saturday night we had a birthday to celebrate! Tomorrow is Jillian's 14th birthday. :scared1: yep, my firstborn is almost driving age. Our family has a tradition that even year birthdays are family dinners, and odd year birthdays are friend parties. So, this being Jillian's 14th, it was family dinner year. Family dinners consist of our family, and Brian's parents, and the menu is whatever birthday person wants served.

Here is the table all set for dinner:

Gabe and Charity made birthday banners for her:

I LOVE this picture, because Jillian is the anti-priss. She struck that pose for the picture, then mumbled to herself "I will NEVER do that again!" :rotfl2:

Other banners:

That was Gabe's artwork of the whole family (Nana and Papaw, too). :lovestruc

For dinner Jillian reqeusted: Homemade Lasagna (made with Daddy's homemade spaghetti sauce), Caesar Salad, and Garlic Bread. I didn't really take any pictures of the food... other than this lovely thing:

For dessert, Jillian wanted Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake with Chocolate Frosting. It was SO RICH and SO SWEET and SO FATTENING! :sad2: But is was also SO GOOD! :cloud9:

Being the teenager that she is, she wanted only money for her birthday. :upsidedow Her grandparents obliged, but Brian and I gave her something even better:

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Did she have the best birthday ever?!?! YAY on the GC!
The pictures the kids did were awesome! I think that is just too sweet of all of them to pitch in.
LOVE mickey on the pumpkin! Fall is my favorite too!!!
Ohhh that cake. it sounds like HEAVEN!

i hope everything is better! How much longer??? I want to get on this cruise trip!

Happy Birthday Jillian!!! I hoep you had an amazing day!!!

ROFL about pressuring Ariana to win another bag... It went in the mail today - so it worked. LOL

Love your fall decorations! I may have to truck over to CVS too... Like I need any more of anything in my house though...

Mmm... the lasagna and the cake look TDF!!!!!!!!!! I could go for some cake... It's too bad that I am still dieting.

YOur trip is really getting CLOSE!@!!!! YAY!!!

D~

Waiting at the airport for my plane home . :( I miss my Mamma already. Between her and you pressuring me on the bag, I had no choice but to win it! LOL. I read through the posts but the pictures are too small on my phone. I need to go back and read them on a bigger screen when I get home. Then I can comment properly! For now I'll just say Happy Birthday Jillian!!
