Nothing like using everybody's pools and getting to experience it all. :)

:)

Okay, not really, but I know you people love controversial posts and since my other title was too boring to get a response, I thought maybe this would get some attention. The question I am needed in an answer to is in my last post.

But I am a DVC member, so it is not that much of an issue, really. LOL

We have decided to arrive a night earlier and so we will be staying at a value resort and then moving to our DVC resort the next day. We would like to get up, check out, go to AKV and then head to the park.

How does this work? Does Pop Century take us to AKV or are we responsible for getting a cab? If Pop will do it, who do we tell. I appreciate any information. I asked CRO and they said I needed to ask the resort. I called Pop and the lady had unclear English and I dont think she understood my question. :)

You will have to take a taxi or use the Disney buses. If you take a taxi you can take your luggage with you. If your room is not ready you can store it with bell services.

If you take the Disney bus you can arrange for bell services at Pop to transfer your luggage to AKV and it will arrive in the late afternoon. Early in the morning you will need to take a bus to a park, then transfer to the AKL/AKV bus.

Any idea what we would pay for a cab in florida? I am trying to budget for everything and since we have quite a few people going, I have to properly communicate to all adults.

Anybody have any thoughts on this? I am just trying to get organized and since I am planning a trip for a lot of people, I have a lot of responsibility on me. We are having a get-together tomorrow night and everybody wants answers.

From what I remember and what I've experienced, cab rides within Disney resorts and all parks fall under the $20 mark.

We use taxis a lot at WDW. It can run anywhere from 10.00 to 20.00.

We took a cab twice during our last trip and WL to AKL was about $20 and that included tip. I didn't think that was too bad since they are opposite ends. The other was WL to POP but our driver got really lost so it ended up being free. The bellhop had told us it would be about $10 - $12 though which sounds right.

We take taxi's all the time at WDW and it's never cost more than $20. Also, they do have taxi vans to accommodate more people and luggage. Just ask bell services the night before or call bell services about 30 minutes before you are due to leave to request a van. We did this back in 2006 when we had six people and the charge was the same, under $20. Now I am not sure if that has changed but I don't see why it should have. Happy Planning:hippie:

Thanks everybody. I wish there was an easier way to change resorts, but at least it is not expensive.

In a different order of events, you could check out, ask to have your luggage sent to AKL, then head to whatever park you are going to via bus, and then when you are done at the park, go to AKL via bus, and your bags will be waiting. For free.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You can phone Bell Services to transfer your luggage. I'm not sure how it works at the values, their Bell Service I hear is a bit different. I don't know if they'll come to your room to pick it up, or you have to get it down to them. At the other resorts they come pick up.

Then you have 2 options-
A. Hop a bus to AK, then transfer to the AKL bus- 5 min away from AK park. Check in, and head out to the parks.

B. Call a cab, as mentioned a taxi van costs no more then a regular taxi. They will take you and your luggage to AKL. You can store your luggage with AKL Bell Service if your room isn't ready.

You could check in online before the trip. Then that day wake up have bell services take your luggage and head to the park. Then you could check in at the AKL at the end of your day.
