I am a new member and I am having a lot of fun looking at all the posts. I didn't know if I would post a question or not, it is kind of overwhelming looking at all the abbreviations! I don't know what they all mean! There must be a place where they are explained?

Anyway, we live in Maine and we just got hit with another major snowstorm the other day, we can't wait to feel the warmth of the sun again! We are supposed to get another storm this week. . . I guess that's the price of living in this beautiful state! One day it's Spring, the next it's Winter again!

I would love any advice on the best place to start our day in the Magic Kingdom, we are going on a Sunday. I have children that are into the adventure rides, they are 9, 11, and 13. Should we start in Adventureland and try to go around the park in a certain direction? Any tips would be great! :cool1:

Same here, on the shores of a lake that's "Erie" I had over 10 inches of springtime in my driveway today! :scared1:

I would start there and work your way around. It's usually just a preference for each and every one of us. We prefer to head straight to Fantasyland when we get there and then we go back make our way around towards Adventureland and then cross over and go to Tomorrowland and follow around ending up back in Fantasyland. Just go with your instinct and you'll figure out whats best for you.

I totally agree about getting away from this weather. I live in Louisville, Ky and it's been in the 30s here and we've had some flurries but nothing that sticks. All the poor little girls, including my daughter, in their pretty Easter dresses and sandals with their big winter coats. I can't wait til it starts warming up again.

Welcome to the Dis!

Hi there Penny, I can't seem to get a PM to you, I keep getting an error. I am headed out the door, but I'll try later! Thanks!

Hi, Opal's Mom! And Welcome to the DIS!

If you're interested in which land to tour when (or more specifically which attraction to do when), I recommend either signing up for Tour Guide Mike or getting the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. Either will give you some idea of what to do when, and help you avoid the worst lines and still go on every ride you want to experience. :thumbsup2

Wow! Thanks for the great information! I will check it out! I can't believe how much information there is out there about everything!

Penney, I got your pm but I guess I still can't reply, the error I get says that my post count is too low or something like that. I'll keep trying! Trish

Welcome to the DIS. Here in NJ we did not get a lot of snow this winter.

Welcome to the Boards!!

It's still cold here in Connecticut...but at least the snow is gone....and it's supposed to be around 50 degrees tomorrow!!

I am looking out my window right now and we are getting a mix of snow, sleet, rain, etc! Can't wait to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any warm weather will feel good now! Maybe before Disney I can get one more day of skiing in! Kind of weird to be skiing so late in the season!

What exactly is snow? We have been cutting our grass in Louisiana for 6 weeks.

Western NY here.... welcome to April, our 7th consecutive month of snow. It started on Oct 13th, when we had what some of us still refer to as Arborgeddon when some of us were without power for over 2 weeks. (eek!! 2 weeks with no computer!!!) I just looked out my window and there are flakes falling again. I don't usually mind winter that much, but enough already!

Dh had to snowblow the drive again today...5 inches fell of snow fell yesterday, covering all signs of green! I think if I didn't have this Disney trip to dream of, and my Poly screensavers to gaze at, I might go mad!

My sympathies to all those good folks who live up around the Great Lakes...I'll bet it feels like winter will never end up there!

And, to the poster from Louisiana who has been mowing the lawn for 6 weeks...I am "green" with envy.

Welcome Opal's Mom to the DIS!

I recommend reading either of the two books mentioned above and the posts in the Theme Parks and Attractions Forum. Yes, it will take awhile but you'll soon figure out what people are saying. You might want to copy and paste different excerpts into a document for reference as I do for new attractions even now.

Again, welcome!!!!!!!
