Can't stop thinking about WDW

Not only are we planning hard for our trip this October, I have plans in the works for our January trip and thinking about making Poly Luau ressies for our trip in Oct 2005.

Okay, I have to chime in. As if my signature doesn't say it all. We have a trip planned for December 04, we would really like to go in March 05, we have plans for a Beach CLub/Grand Villa in July 05, a cruise in November 05..... it's constant... I can't stop. We are so planned out I am using 2007 points already in my head.

One of the perks of being in sales is autonomy. If I've had a particulary good week, I'll treat myself to some time loitering around Barnes & Noble. Inevitably, a Disney guide book or two end up in my stack. In fact, I found about this site reading Rita Aero's book. I also highly recommend the Unofficial Guides.

That reminds me of a funny story. I always used to kid DD about 'that guy in the Mickey costume.' She firmly held to the belief that the characters are real until she was nine. I hope I haven't shattered any adult's fantasies here. I picked up my first guide book about the time she was six, and was talking about it one night over dinner. She piped up and asked, "Does it say anything about Mickey being real?" Of course I tap danced and said yes.

Our ritual seems similar to others in this thread. We'll always watch the vacation DVD before going (in fact, it's about time to do that!). We almost always watch 'A Goofy Movie' before we leave, too. It's a road trip movie we've had in the library since DD was very little. Now she's ten, and it's still part of the tradition.

About 30-60 days out, I'll count down the days on our paper calendar. Every morning over breakfast I'll announce how many days we have left and we'll talk about the things we'll do.

It sure is nice to be amongst friends ! :Pinkbounc :wave2:

Sometimes at work, if it has been especially hectic, and I need a "mental" break for a moment or two, I head straight here!!
See what's new, what's happening, read trip reports, etc.!!

I made four bingo type boards with 25 squares each and have been putting stickers on them each day as a count down tool.
I already have a box started with stuff for our October trip. It's going to be a driving trip so I need different things.

I also have trips planned into 2006: Oct. 04 VWL, Jan. 05 SSR, April or May 05 ??, Oct. 05 HH, and another cruise in spring of 06!

Anyone else "brave" enough to join the club?? Come on in - the water's fine!!

I have to admit I'm an addict and have been since our honeymoon in '93. We recently came back from a non-DVC trip to the WL because our building hadn't opened yet at SSR. During our trip we talked about our next one coming in late Oct. (@ SSR). Usually when we return home from a trip we kiddingly ask each other each morning what park we are heading to that day. This goes on for about a week. I think it helps us assimulate back to reality. We love talking Disney. Now I just need to start piping the different park and resort music through the house - that could help me 'til I got my next hit!

Welcome to our little community on the DIS!

Now how does a Boston 1029 get a Pennsylvania location?

Well, I'm looking at the longest 20 days in the world at the moment!!! Then back again for Thanksgiving. Dh isn't sure he can stand it again in Aug '05, so I'll take my 28 y/o dd. Oh yeah....you could say I'm addicted!!! And my 10 y/o dd is just as bad. Poor dad...surrounded by dis-nuts!!!!

We are all in the same boat! My name is Annmarie and I am addicted to Disney!! So is DH!!

We had our godchild and family over for dinner last Saturday and they were recently at Disney. After dinner the conversation turned to Disney and before I knew it I had the Vacation Planner guide on the table and we were all checking dates that would work because they have little ones who are still in school. My DS is going to college this year and one of their DDs is in college and another is already out. They are all planning on coming with us! I guess we may need a grand villa or multiple rooms! I am so excited!!!

I feel your pain. DH was askance at the idea of redoing a bathroom with a Disney motif (if a room functions and looks ok, DH's philospohy is to stick with it). So I did it anyway (but was smart enough to do the KIDS bathroom -- not ours -- that way I would have 3 folks to back me up!) Well, it turned out AWESOME. Did a Nemo theme (yes I have one of those 45 dollar shower curtains that folks are hawking on ebay for 90. I did briefly toy with selling the curtain, but then stuck to my guns!) Spongepainted the walls, made the rug, got some NEMO motif stuff to accent, and verdict was -- the Kids LOVE it -- they fight over using it. Kids fighting over who gets to be clean first -- can't argue with that. Even DH approved of the final product. Next project -- our basement. TUrning it into a "Florida" room. THe posts will become palm trees. Walls in everglade green. I have framed maps of each park, water park, and transportation guide for the walls. I also have these cool Disney Road SIgns (like I-4 with mickey ears, a YIELD with Goofy's silhouette in it, etc.) ANd one area for the kids -- with TV, bean bags, etc is to be "Pooh Corner". Again, DH thinks I'm nuts. But I know he will love the final project.

ANd as for being an addict ... oh yeah. That's me. I was planning our August trip using EXCEL to map our dining choices way back in Dec. I have a spiral book 2 inches thick that has all of our ressies, requests, etc.; loads of menus printed, all the I-95 stops and hotel/retaurant/gas info, all the daily itineraries and PS #s, all the maps, the passes, info on grocery stores, medical centers -- you name it, it's in my Disney brain in a binder. Color me obsessed.

Well...okay...I've been on this thread twice and you forced me to join in on the fun:teeth:

My husband and I married on the sly at Caribbean Beach Resort on July 7, 1998 and spent our honeymoon there, of course::yes::

Then, we took my(our) kids back that December because we felt guilty about eloping to such a great place without them:p

We tried to get back sooner; October is our first trip in all these years and our first home to OKW:earsboy: We're taking my Mom and Dad who also LUV Disney. Then Mom and I began planning a 7 day cruise for next October and an August 2006 trip for all the fam to celebrate their 50th wedding Anniversary:grouphug:

THEN, my children's father said he'd like the kids for a week around 4th of July 2005. Guess what that means? An anniversary trip for me and DH. This is so much fun:earseek:

My name is Lisa and I am a Disney addict:sunny:

To say that we're addicted is an understatement. We leave for BCV in five days.......the wait is absolutely killing me! We go again in October for the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. We too have kicked around the idea of creating "Disney Rooms" in the house but don't want our kids to have us committed to an asylum. My wife and I routinely console ourselves that there are worse (and more expensive) addictions in the world.

I'll join you. I have Burnbahm's book, along with WDW for Dummies, and my latest fix, Passporter, which I highly recomend also. Along with family movie night which consists of the family watching the family videos of our 2002 trip. The kids think I'm crazy, but now I can show them I am not alone in my insanity. :hyper:

Just a couple of weeks out from our next venture, and I even been tracking our flights on time percentage. Funny I haven't tracked the flight home at all...wonder why that is...
