Its kinda windy outside and the sound of things creaking and moving and the rustling of the new leaves on our tree.....it was totally stripped during Wilma and the power dimming every so often has me on edge. This is so not like me at all.

Hmmm, sounds scary. When I'm nervous at night, I usually have a glass or two of wine to help me relax. I also sleep with the t.v. on. It makes me feel "connected" to the outside world, but if the power is dimming, that might not be relaxing for you. I also try deep breathing and other relaxation techniques to help me sleep. This is weird but I like to brush my hair-it soothes me for some odd reason. I'm sorry you had to go through Wilma. We got out of Florida just in time to return safely home. Here's wishing you a good night's sleep.

I think that might also be part of the problem is that I normally sleep with the TV on and I wouldnt probably notice the noises that Im hearing but our cable is out so no TV. The wind just whipped up a few minutes ago and the noise made the dog howl and I bout did a triple gaynor out of my chair. The dog woke up dh who went outside to see if everything was okay and he was oh so comforting when I told him I was edgy and couldnt sleep. I got the Oh Go to sleep there is nothing to be worried about as he went back to bed.

I can't sleep either. I had a nap this afternoon and that sort of killed it.

I'm up too !

And it's real windy here in Illinois too. My kids (10 & 7) had a lot of trouble sleeping. My DD10 came down and said that the wind sounded like ghosts screaming, so we (being the terrible parents that we are) told her to scream back. Then we got to listen to the 2 of them up there screaming & giggling for another 1/2 hour. Then my DS7 came down to say "We can't sleep, it's too windy" so my DH & I bust out laughing and say at the same time "It's not wind, it actually IS ghosts screaming". My poor son says "Oh, you guys are a big help." and goes back to bed.

we didn't hear from them any more after that. :rotfl:

Thankfully once my kids do go to sleep it would take an atom bomb to wake them up so the wind isnt bothering them. I just went outside for a minute and it cool out there for S. Fla so we must be getting a cool front comming in which is causing the wind. Our cable is out so we havent been able to watch the news. Some idiot on the next street is also playing some sort of high pitched flute type instrument. Why at 3 am I have no clue. What a weird night LOL!!!

I'm awake too! I'm taking an antibiotic that always gives me trouble with sleeping. I just took a tiny chip off of a sleeping pill--that should kick in within 15 minutes or so.

I just got home from a bad night. First a bad blind date (I now remember why I avoid blind dates) and then I worked a midnight show at the theatre. Im home now and wired, cant sleep. stinks

Cheers,
Jungle Josh
