Can't sleep because new neighbors bed keeps hitting our wall.

I think you need to take a nap early in the evening, then when they are doing their thing you won't be trying to sleep...BUT as soon as they stop you start up. Bang something against the walls, scream, moan, make noise. You just know that they are now ready for sleep and you're not going to let them! Pay back time.

We owned a double when we first got married, early 20 year yr old girls lived upstairs. One night one of them had a male visitor. For about 10 minutes DH and I layed in bed cracking up, then as the time went by and it went on and on and on, I started to get mad. I had to get up for work in the morning! I went and slept on the couch. DH fell asleep, how I'll never know!

Applaud after their activities. Slide a Rating Card under their door. I tried that when I lived in a thin-walled Apartment. It Stopped.

Ding!!! Ding!!!! Ding!!!!! We have a winner!!!!!

If I was drinking my diet Pepsi, it would have come out my nose!:rotfl2: :rotfl: !!!!

This thread is hysterical, I'm in an apartment too and hear your pain. We hear more fights and yelling than anything else. I hope the next 2 weeks can fly by for you!

I feel your pain. Our neighbors are the exact opposite though. There really needs to be more "luvin" going on in that house. After my female neighbor lost her job a few months ago she starting hitting the bottle in the afternoon (I know because she invited my DH over to drink with her.:scared1: ) Well, by about 6:00 when her hubby gets home she is usually in a really bad mood and lets him have it. They yell at each other until after 9 every night on and off. Thank goodness I can go into my bedroom to escape it.
Funny thing is though, you'd never know they were like that if you didn't hear them. When we see them outside, they are the nicest, down to earth couple you'd meet.:rolleyes1 I'm so glad it our living rooms that touch and not the bedrooms...

Thankfully when DW and I lived in an appartment after getting married our upstairs neighbor was an old widow and our neighbor across the hall was an old divorcee whose 20-something son lived with her, so there was no danger of being disturbed by amorous noises...

And we made sure the posts of our bed had at least a couple of inches of clearance from the walll... :)

You could buy them some door stoppers for Christmas - the round padded kind - and draw them a diagram of where to put them on their bed...

OH MY GOSH. Thankfully, we move to our new house in 2 weeks but I am at the end of my rope. The walls in our apartment are so painfully thin that it's amazing that they passed inspection.

When we originally moved into this apartment the neighbor next to us was so loud that we had to call the police. She had some techno music party in her bedroom (which is on the other side of our bedroom wall) and cranked it as loud as possible from something like 1 a.m. past 9 a.m. We banged on the wall and she just laughed and turned it up more.

Now new neighbors moved in a week ago. They've had "relations" every night this last week. While that's just fine and dandy, their bed is directly behind our bed and I know this because it just BANG BANG BANGS at various hours of the night, among other sounds :scared1:

Tonight I went to bed at 11:30 and here I am at 1:04 and they're STILL at it. :rolleyes1 The thumping was so horrible that I banged my fist on the wall for almost a minute straight, and they stopped for a couple of minutes and started right back up.

Please, please, please let these next two weeks go fast. I need a decent night's sleep!!

Geeezzz! Sorry!! ;) :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl:

Sounds like a cool place to live.;)

We had this happen to us only once when we lived in an apartment. Single woman next door brought home company one night and we heard everything. Only happened once that we knew of in the year we were there. I wonder what they thought of us....;)

I so feel for you. In college my apartment bedroom shared a wall with the neighbor's kitchen and the 9 guys that shared that apartment didn't know how to close a cabinet or drawer without slamming it. They'd wake me up a couple times a night.

My friend at university had the same problem with her housemate. One night she had had enough as it was extra loud. So at the moment it stopped she played Handles Hallelujah Chorus at full bast!! She never heard a peep out of them after that!!

OP, I feel sorry for you, I hope the 2 weeks pass quickly until you move.

I used to have that problem with a UPSTAIRS neighbor... squeak squeak SQUEEEEEAK!!!!:scared:

Years ago, my sister lived in NY and had a similar neighbor situation. She just turned the TV on to drowned it out. One night, the noise was really bad so she had her TV cranked. A short time later that was a knock on the door. It was her neighbor asking her to turn her TV down. She explained that she only had it that loud to drown on the action from his apartment. He turned beet red and she never heard any noise of that nature from next door again.

OMG! That's brilliant!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

If you want them to get a taste of their own medicine and just cannot work it out...

Set your music player to repeat a song. Turn on "It's A Small World" as loud as it gets at whatever time these folks are normally going to bed or sleeping. Leave the house.

when DH and I were looking for an apartment to rent when we were getting married, we found a great one that was the right price.

The owner was taking us on a tour. When we came to the bedroom, there was an awful noise. The guy said not to worry, that was just his wife turning over in bed!!! Being newlyweds, there was no way we wanted to live someplace that had walls that thin!

I've had yeeeeeeeeeeeears of this in college. The couple who lived upstairs to us in our last flat only seemed to feel the need to get jiggy at 4am....

I've got one of those beds currently which creaks whenever I even roll over in my sleep so there's no way I'd put my housemate through that! :rotfl:

I am so doing this tonight.
