OH MY GOSH. Thankfully, we move to our new house in 2 weeks but I am at the end of my rope. The walls in our apartment are so painfully thin that it's amazing that they passed inspection.

When we originally moved into this apartment the neighbor next to us was so loud that we had to call the police. She had some techno music party in her bedroom (which is on the other side of our bedroom wall) and cranked it as loud as possible from something like 1 a.m. past 9 a.m. We banged on the wall and she just laughed and turned it up more.

Now new neighbors moved in a week ago. They've had "relations" every night this last week. While that's just fine and dandy, their bed is directly behind our bed and I know this because it just BANG BANG BANGS at various hours of the night, among other sounds :scared1:

Tonight I went to bed at 11:30 and here I am at 1:04 and they're STILL at it. :rolleyes1 The thumping was so horrible that I banged my fist on the wall for almost a minute straight, and they stopped for a couple of minutes and started right back up.

Please, please, please let these next two weeks go fast. I need a decent night's sleep!!

:scared1:
wow i don't even know what to say....
I can't believe you bang on the wall..so they know you can hear and they are not even trying to move the bed out a bit....

hope you can get some sleep soon...

Hey, if you're in a relationship and you wanna have fun, that's great! But my goodness, the bed is just CONSTANTLY banging on the wall and it's directly behind our heads. My husband even said that in any other apartment we've been in we've never heard (or made noise) like that before.

Seriously, should someone have to pound their fist on the wall for you to realize that you're too loud??? :scared1:

Glad you are moving....I feel sorry for the next folks moving in....

Do you live in my apartment? Seriously? I have a teenage girl that lives next door to me and she plays and sings crappy music all day long. My bedroom is next to her living room. I too bang on the wall. I really try not to but when my bed is vibrating from the bass and I can't hear myself think, it is too much!!!
We've complained to the super, but this chick doesn't give a crap. She think's she can sing and play guitar. It sounds like she's molesting the guitar. She's awful. At this point we'd have to go to management but I'd hate to have her father evicted because he isn't the problem. She is.

Get some Barry White CDs and crank em up...might make them finish quicker. :teeth:

Have They Finished?????? :)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
I am so sorry to laugh at your lack of sleep but this reminded me of a trip DH and I took when I was pregnant with our first son. We went to some resort and we could hear EVERYTHING that was going on around our room! The people above us were quite amorous if you will. We were cracking up everytime that bed started going!:rotfl: Then the people next to us were elderly and every morning they would go on and on about how they needed their celebrex to start the day. Poor things! I don't have any great advice because if I had to listen to bow chicka wa wa everyday I would probably lose my mind. I hope it gets better for you soon.

I want the Lord to take me out if I ever have to live in an apartment again. I have enough trouble with my "Joe Dirt" redneck neighbors and they're 1200 feet away.

Try placing your headboard closer to the wall, wait until about 2am on a Tuesday and start knocking your headboard into the wall for about 45 minutes or until they get the hint that you have had enough of their crap. It worked for us many years ago.

They finally stopped around 2 a.m.

We don't have a headboard but the head of the bed is right up against the wall, apparently where their bed is. Yuck :(

Applaud after their activities. Slide a Rating Card under their door. I tried that when I lived in a thin-walled Apartment. It Stopped.

Maybe you should move your bed to the living area? Good luck -

sorry I got a chuckle out of your pain - I know the noise machines help cover noises from Pop Century - but banging on the adjoining wall probably doesnt cover that - may 2 weeks go by quickly for you!!

(wonder if you could record it, and send them the recording? never mind they'd probably be able to sue you for voyearism)

It sure sounds that way.

I like the rating card idea. :thumbsup2 Also, just as they're getting to the "finish line", you could moan and/or scream at the top of your lungs. That should throw them off. ;) :thumbsup2

When I was in high school we went a church trip and stayed in a hotel. It was 4 of us girls in the room and about midnight we were woken up to banging, moaning and screaming (YES, YES, YES!). We were :scared1: Us 4 were all rather straight laced and this was just more than we could handle. It went on forever!

We ended up calling the front desk and telling them the next room was making a lot of noise and we couldn't sleep. We heard someone come up and "interrupt" them and ask them to keep it down. But about 20 minutes later they started again. Needless to say we were all rather tired and cranky the next day.

My friend attached a pair of balled up socks on their doorknob with a note a that said "If you stuff these in her mouth then at least we won't have to listen to her scream!"

The second night it was quiet. I suspect they changed rooms!

Do you live in my old apartment? The couple that lived next door to me were SO LOUD...at least, she was. Between her literally screaming, the bed squeaking, the floor creaking...I had many sleepless nights. This girl was so loud that one afternoon while I was sitting outside on the front stoop, talking to a neighbour, we heard her moaning - and their windows were closed.

One night, when they woke me up for the THIRD time around 3 a.m., I pounded on the wall and yelled, "Dude, she's faking it!" Didn't hear another sound...for several days.
