Can't seem to pick a 3rd fastpass at EPCOT

I have a trip to Disney in 2 weeks, and, while I think I have all my fastpasses and dining reservations set, looking over my itinerary, I only have 2 fast passes scheduled on my 2 EPCOT days. My first day there, I have Soarin' and Mission Space. My second day I have Frozen Ever After and Pixar Short Film. Since you can't Test Track, Soarin' or FEA on the same day, I can't add Test Track. Is there really any need to do a fast pass at any other attraction? Pretty much everything else there has always seemed to be a short wait. Should I just throw something else on there just to book something, or wait until I'm there, and see if a pass is actually needed for any other ride?

I always book something, cause it can't do any harm, and it just might turn out to be useful. What I figured was going to be a throwaway-FP+ for Journey into Imagination with Figment actually saved us a 30-minute wait.

Spaceship Earth could also be a possibly useful Tier 2 FP+.

The trick I've learned with Spaceship Earth is... and I'm sure I'm not the first to figure this out... never ride it in the morning. It seems like everyone comes in and rides it as they enter the park, and the line is ALWAYS long early. If you wait until you're close to leaving, it's seems always to be a walk on. I might throw something on, just in case. Maybe I'll look at the wait time on the app this week and judge what the crowds are and what might be drawing enough crowds to add that third fast pass.

I was there a few weeks ago Figment was 20 minutes, living with the Land was 25 minutes and Space ship earth was 25 minutes. Honestly I think your Pixar Short Fp is a bigger throw away than any of those

The Pixar Short film will be a complete waste of FP+, as it NEVER has a line. It's a big theater and I've never seen it filled. The only wait you will have is for the next show to start.

Having said that, most of the Tier 2 rides don't need FP+ either. Mission Space is a good one, as it can get lines from time to time. We typically use SE or Nemo as our third, as they can get a line (though that is rare). Yeah, SE will fill up in the morning, but not until later morning, at least in our experience. It's empty the first hour or so (as everyone is running to TT or FEA), then gets busy, then is empty again after 5pm. I don't doubt mrzrich, but in our experience, the only time we saw a line for Figment was during Christmas and Thanksgiving weeks...even then it was short. We've seen lines for Land, but usually 10 minutes or less.

Regardless, I'd still do the 3rd FP+, just so you can get a 4th, though reality is you probably won't need it because it's highly unlikely you'd get a Tier 1 ride with your 4th FP+.

I really wish they would add some meet and greets in Epcot to the FP+ categories. Like Baymax or Joy/Sadness.

If you like meeting characters, I would get the character spot. That can sometimes be a long line -it's Mickey Minnie and Goofy

Most lines are longer now. Spaceship Earth is rarely less than 30 minutes so i always add that to my FP+ list. Then you can always get Figment or others with 4,5,6 FP+ if needed.

When did you see that? We were there for a very long trip in June/July. We did see lines at 30-50 minutes during the roughly lunch hours, but early morning and mid-afternoon on it was nearly a walk on.

Add something that is in the hour limit of your other FP+. Even if you don't use it, once the time expires or you use the last one, you are eligible for that 4th one.

I agree. Schedule something for your 3rd as early in the day as possible, even if you have no plans to use it. If you're a park hopper/AP, adding the 4th can be at another park.

I also agree with others that you don't need an FP at all for Pixar. I'd use it for Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, Living Seas or maybe Living with the Land. On a side note, don't let the lack of needing an FP for Pixar deter you from going to the attraction. The films are well done and I highly recommend going. Best use of the Magiceye theater in a long time; its nice to see people in the theater again.

I made a throw away FP for early times so I could pick another Tier 1 when I used the other 2. I'm not sure when you are going so, when we went it wasn't crazy busy and I was able to do that 3 out of the 4 days were there.

We only had success with that once for Test Track around dinner time. When does your 3rd FP+ window usually take place that you have had the greatest success?

It was later, around dinner time but we didn't have any dinner ADRs so the time for us didn't matter. We never tried for FEA, we just alternated TT and Soarin for our 4th.
I think it worked for us because alot of people, especially those with kids were busy eating then.

A bit off-topic but how are the lines for Nemo in the morning? We're gonna rd to TT first then walk on either SE or Nemo in the morning then park hop to MK. The rest of Epcot wilk be FP'd another day. I'm trying to decide whether SE or Nemo will be quicker to do after TT with less wait.

Thanks! We try to avoid dinner ADRs as Epcot is a hard day for us. Kid get tired easy. It was nice to grab a 4th FP for TT at 5:20 or so. But when did your 3rd expire or get used for you to grab a dinner time one? It only happened once to us and it was around 2pm that day. We were so surprised to even grab it especially for a party of 5, we did split up and having overlapping times.

I think I only added the Pixar movie because it was new to me. Just wanted to lock it down and make sure I had a time to see it. I'll watch the lines today and go ahead and set a pick on something. Thanks for the advice! I hadn't thought about the 4th fast pass angle by not booking that 3rd one. At least Disney is showing my fast passes today. I went to look at them last night, and it was showing I had none. :)

I think the latest for our 3rd was the 3-4 timeframe, but I cant remember exactly. We would go right at 3 and while in line get another FP for 6-7. We didn't do it for the Sat we were there but had luck Sun-Tues.

Nemo is likely to be the shorter wait. It will probably be a walk-on.
