Can't say enough about the Skipper Canteen

Aw man I collect tiki mugs (not just from Disney) and I didn't see or hear anything about one while we were there. Wonder if they were out, so didn't mention it, or just forgot? Could someone post a pic?

I did a quick google search for a pic and now I'm rather bummed at what we got. Either they changed them or I didn't get an actual souvenir mug but this is the one I brought home. Most of the pics online are of a much nicer one. Maybe someone else knows if this was an actual change in style or a mix up and I didn't get the right one?

I did a quick google search for a pic and now I'm rather bummed at what we got. Either they changed them or I didn't get an actual souvenir mug but this is the one I brought home. Most of the pics online are of a much nicer one. Maybe someone else knows if this was an actual change in style or a mix up and I didn't get the right one?

I actually like the one you got. The other is too slick and polished. Yours fits the theme of the restaurant better,imo. Who knows, maybe someday it will be a rare collectible!

Just noticed that's a pic from Theme Park Connection. If they're selling it, I think you did ok. Gonna guess that your style is rare.

I agree! The embossed one looks like something from a crew mess versus a souvenir. Hang onto that one!

We really enjoyed it as well! It was one of the dining highlights of our trip in October.

This is the only WDW restaurant that my husband insisted we return to for our 2017 trip. He is especially excited that now we can have a cocktail there. When we went we split the SEA Shu Mai and Arepas and then ate a good portion of my daughter's meat macaroni thing (she's a light eater). The only meh was the Shu Mai which was very good but not as special as the other items.

We ate there in November. Enjoyed the food (although a little disappointed that they already changed the menu to be less eclectic - guess the original menu didn't sell well). Our server was great. Lots of really bad Jungle Cruise type jokes the entire time we were there. Exactly what we were hoping for. She had our table and the one next to use laughing and groaning the entire time.
it is definitely on our list for next time.

this is what they showed on the menu as the souvenir mug when I went two weeks ago.

the copper style one sold out a while ago and never came back.
