Hi all!

I just called to book my room for November, 2 queen club level, I asked if she could make a notation on my reservation that I would like to request a deluxe if one is available. I've stayed before on the club, and in fact the last time I stayed the reservationist told me she would make a notation for a deluxe if one is available since we had 5 in our party without my asking, this time around I asked if it could be done and was told no they never do that. What?? I'm not expecting the deluxe, I know it is a bonus if you get one, but I just don't get how one year the person made the notation and this time around I am told they never do that. What is up with that??? :confused3

Anyone ever been able to make that request, or am I going crazy?

I would call the hotel personally and make that request.

Think it is too soon to do that now, or should I wait two or three weeks out from our vacation? We are arriving the weekend before Tday.

I would do it now and then do it again later. When we got our deluxe room on club, I did it quite a while before we went.

Thanks Damo. I don't expect the room, but I'd at least like a shot at it! I will call them today. :thumbsup2

the reason many do not get their request honored for deluxe queen rooms at hrh is that they are still occupied when you arrive.

if you are willing to switch rooms during your stay, let them know at the front desk.. i have done that before.

if a person arrives on a monday and the deluxe queen is open, they get the room. you arrive tuesday and none are available until the monday guest leaves.

if they check out on wednesday, you can be switched to that room.

if the room is vacant you will get it when you arrive tocheck in.
if you take a standard room and willing to relocate during your stay, you need to let front desk know.

Unfortunately, DH is so not a mover. :sad2: When he is on vacation it is time to relax, repacking isn't part of that plan. LOL!

I can imagine that with it being T-day week my chances are slim, but they would be even slimmer if I didn't try before we arrive. ;) If we get it, we get it, if not, someone can make use of an inflatable and we can hang in the lounge to stretch out. No biggie I guess, I was just thrown when the lady said they never do that, when I know that two years ago the reservationist asked me if I wanted to add that request on. :confused3

Thanks again! You Redheads are so helpful! :thumbsup2

I have requested in the past and got nowhere. Initially they denied they even existed at HRH. I emailed before we arrived and asked again when I checked in. The rooms were empty as one of the porters checked but we didn't get it. They gave us the pull out bed free but that was not down to the check in staff it was down to the guys who took our bags. They were far more helpful than front desk. I had a few issues with the room allocated like plumbing not working not enough towels and no robes. Nothing done by front desk. When guy at front door asked how our room was and we explained he went and sorted it out for us.
As we are goinf to RPR club this year I guess this won't be an issue.

don't hold your breathe......i decide 2 years ago to try rph so i could say i have gone all 3 ways.....and join the club.

i won't be back at rph due to the reasons you won't be back to the hrh.

the hrh has less rooms than the other 2 hotels.
there are limited amount of queen deluxe in the hotel.

i'm guessing about 12 of them. they are hard to get but it can be done.

if the q deluxe is already in use, the front desk will tell you they don't have any.....meaning, none are available.

if you really want that room, have the front desk put your name down for a wait list if you are willing to relocate to the queen deluxe when it does become available. staff will move your luggage and belongings for you.

i have done that before.
piece of cake.

moved to a queen deluxe while i am staying at hrh.
