***Can't keep us down...OFFICIAL MAY 2021 THREAD...come heck or high water we're going to WDW!!!***

My husband and I got our first doses yesterday! So we are officially, official for our May trip! We are doing a split stay between Dolphin (first time!) and Contemporary. I didn't even realize our trip fell over Mother's Day when I made our reservations. Decided breakfast at Topolino's was in order. I've heard such great things. That is our resort switch day so we are going to do that and then take the kids over to AOA to see the Cars. The weather is finally warming up here in the midwest. I can literally feel the brighter days ahead. 😊

Congrats! I have very fond memories of the Dolphin with my family growing up. It’s even nicer now than it was then, you will enjoy the area too. So wonderful to walk to Epcot during festivals.

We’re officially booked for a May trip (5/5 - 5/15). We had originally planned on going to Jamaica in May but they just came out with a mandatory COVID test before coming back and we can’t risk being stuck out of the country.

Still, I’m pretty darn excited I get to go back to my favorite place...Disney! It’s a heck of a lot better than when we all lost our May trips last year (Damn you, COVID!).

I hear ya, I lost track of how many cancelled trips I had last year...this year will be better for us all. :) Where are you staying at?

BCV for 3 nights followed by OKW for the remaining 7 nights. I seriously can’t wait!

How about you?

GF and YC split. Right now the actual days are up in the air. Originally we booked 2 weeks at the end of May/start of June since this was rescheduled from last May, but my partner is up in Toronto and the border situation is not making us feel confident that she’ll be able to make it. :( If she can’t, it will be an 8 day solo trip with 4 days at each resort, and October will be our big trip.

Ooh, GF is on my bucket list. Both are great choices.
Here’s hoping you can both make it. The boarder situation has made it very difficult for a lot of Disney lovers. :sad1:

Hello everyone, just came back last month from a split stay between Gran Destino Tower and the Riviera which was fantastic. Was already booked for this coming Dec 4-11 but convinced my sister that we needed a quick trip in May. Wanted to add my dates to the list and follow along (May 14-18)
Staying at Caribbean Beach resort but will most likely switch to Gran Destino Tower which is my favorite. My sister wants the skyliner access where I don't really care since I prefer using Lyft to get everywhere.

*Edit* Looks like we're keeping with Cbr. It's only for four nights and we'll be spending a lot of time in Epcot.

We are going 5/2 and had 9 days to book. Got most of what we wanted but I tried to tweak a few times and nothing is available - there are 6 of us so that might be why. Right off the bat I was able to get -

Boathouse dinner 60
Skippers lunch 60+1
Sci-Fi lunch 60+2
Via Napoli dinner 60+4
Homecomin' brunch 60+7
B&C dinner 60+8

We are going May 2-7th and I could not get Be Our Guest for dinner. I logged on exactly at 7 am, too. :(

I believe online ADRs start at 6 am but I would suggest using a "reservation finder" app and you will likely have one pop up between now and your trip.

ADRs do open at 6 am and like Mickey916 said, use a reservation finder. People are always changing plans. Last time I went I was able to score a 6:30 Ohana dinner the week before we left for our trip. Just because you didn’t get it at first in no way means all hope is lost.

That's right, it was 6am - it was definitely when reservations opened because I had to keep refreshing the site until the reservation dates became available. :)

I set up a dining search with Touring plans. They helped me to get a Narcoossee reservation. But I was also lucky enough to receive the email when I was right next to my cellphone and was able to log into the site right away. I hope it works for Be Our Guest. :)

Okay. ADR’s are set and we got everything we wanted including the one place my husband requested that I completely forgot about. Luckily House of Blues brunch isn’t that hard to get. He’s a big Bloody Mary fan.

So we have Skipper Canteen, which may get cancelled in favor of Pecos Bill’s cause I love Pecos Bill’s.
House of Blues brunch with bottomless Bloody Mary’s coming our way. Because it is a good financial decision to start your day of shopping off with alcohol.:rolleyes1
Mama Melrose, Savi’s (yes not food but res open on ADR day), Oga’s.
And Yak and Yeti.

We've got two days with Mama Melrose, Savi’s, Oga’s because we don’t know yet if some locals will be joining us for our Epcot day. And if they do come whether it will be Monday or Tuesday. So currently I’ve got park res at HS Monday and Epcot Tuesday with dining reservations at HS both days. When we get a firm answer I’ll be dropping the extra dining reservations and editing parks as needed.

I've always had great luck with Touringplans (I set it up to receive a text and leave my phone next to the bed). Can't tell you how many 2 am wake-up calls I've gotten but it's worth it for those hard to get ADRs - I snagged 'Ohana, Sci-Fi and Beaches & Cream that way for my not-to-be May 2020 trip. Best of luck!

Replying to myself to add that I was able to find more times available for our stay. I cancelled Sci-Fi lunch on the 4th and booked it for dinner on the 7th (my niece's bday and her favorite restaurant). I did see quite a few times available for Sci-Fi on the 8th and 10th.

Still not sure what to do for my bday on the 8th. Not booking for AK since I have the Landry's card so will just walk up to Y&Y or RFC. Hoping to switch the Skipper from lunch to dinner. Ideally we wanted B&C on arrival day but I don't think that will happen ;)

edit to add - when looking for times search both for specific time and for meal (bfast/lunch/dinner). Sometimes it will say nothing is available but then it shows up if you search the other way.

Made my reservations for the week of 5/8 this morning and was able to get everything I wanted within 15 minutes of the time I wanted for a party of 3. I did sometimes have to play with party number (between 3/4) to get the reservations to pop up. Hopefully means not a too crowded week. Let the final countdown begin!

Got reservations for:
Topolino's breakfast
Homecomin'
Beaches and Cream Dinner
Garden Grill
50's Primetime
Oga's Cantina
Skippers Canteen
Kona Cafe
Rose and Crown
Il Mulino

Husband and I are vaccinated and are staying at the Swan at the end of April into May. I know there are no nighttime shows but is there anything special at night like random fireworks going off or anything? I am under 60 days and we aren't big table service people. My kids aren't big Meet and Greet people either or parade people. I will miss nighttime shows. I really hope parks stay open later though. I also hope more quick service places open. We like to hit parks early and then take pool breaks midday. Anyways, crossing my fingers for a great trip.

My big question is, how did you decide what park to do what day? I think I will do Animal Kingdom on Saturday but I can't decide between HS and MK. We will have Wed-Saturday as park days. We want two MK days.

I would check the park reservations to see what's available and use that to help make the decision on which park/which day and then book your park reservations ASAP. There are also many "crowd calendar" sites that give you an idea of predicted crowd levels on certain days. I do think AK on Saturday is probably your safest bet.
