For replacing my chocolate chip cookies. :guilty:

So far what I have found on-line is too earthy for my liking. (vegan recipes and I'm not vegan--so I can have dairy and I would like to use sugar if possible).

Does anyone know of any good recipes for ccc---but with carob chips instead. (package doesn't have a recipe for that).

Also---anyone know of a good brownie recipe made with carbo.

I cannot have chocolate anymore. :sad2:

(carob tastes like cocoa if that helps---so recipes that make it taste less unsweetened-cocoa like would be welcome).

I'm sorry, I don't. Sounds like a trip to library or bookstore and check out a couple of cook books.

Some health food store sell carob chips-maybe there is a recipe on the package??? :confused3

What if you just follow a regular chocolate chip recipe and substitute the carob for the chocolate chips? You could try the same thing for brownies too maybe? :confused3

I have the package but no chip cookies. Some interesting ideas--but not the substitute I was looking for :(.

I think that is what i will have to do.

Thanks everyone!

If you wouldn't mind explaining, why can you not have chocolate anymore? :scratchin

I've never heard of that - unless someone is vegan or something (which you have said you are not).

fibrocystic disease (which is not really a disease but rather a condition).

I can't have any caffeine anymore and specifically it is a chemical that I cannot have that is in caffeine (and evidently peanuts as well).

And sadly chocolate--is caffeinated. :(

I found one that doesn't sound too bad. Hopefully I can get the link to work for you:

:thanks:
Thank you soooooo much!!! Just what I was looking for. My googling was yielding some interesting recipes! At least this one I can split the dough in half and do carob in one and chocolate in the other (and somehow do something to differentiate the two :confused3 ).

Thanks again!!!

Recipe is printed--we may have to bake these tomorrow. :goodvibes

Your welcome. Have fun baking. :teeth:

Hugs, Lisa! :grouphug:

I'm allergic to chocolate - was diagnosed at age 4 - so I grew up not eating it. I can now eat it in moderation but I honestly don't like the taste of it.

There is nothing you can do to carob to make it taste like chocolate. You should be able to have white chocolate since it is not made up of the same things as milk or dark chocolate. I always had the icky white chocolate Easter Bunnies in my basket. :guilty:

Try making choc chip cookies without any chips at all - the cookie part is pretty yummy!

Now is the time to find new things to eat. There are plenty of sweets out there that don't contain chocolate if you just look hard enough.

:)

I do not have a recipe I just wanted to offer my condolences. I do not know if I could exist w/out chocolate!!
For some stupid reason when I try to post this, I keep getting a message that my message is too short and I need to lengthen it by 5 characters....what the heck is up with that?

Hey Lisa!

DD #2 has the same problem and was given the same advice. She has been very faithful regarding avoiding the caffeine. She has found that every other month she STILL experiences a LOT of pain. So I suggested to her that if she is going to have pain anyway regardless of caffeine or not, that if she wants to indulge in chocolate that she does so in those months. It won't help the pain, but maybe it would make it a little easier to take? :confused3 :)
