Can't Guarantee N/S Room at CR through SOG?

Maybe I should wait for the confirmation letter to come in, but of course I'm going to worry about it until then ...

When I was able to get the SOG discount at the CR for May 12-18 (I can't believe it - when I called in Feb, the waitlist was full !), the reservationist at SOG said that she was unable to guarantee a non-smoking room. Given that the CR will be pretty full (I have to stay somewhere else my first night, and I've checked other websites where CR is completely booked for that week), I'm concerned about getting a smoking room, as both DH and I are very sensitive to it. I've done it once, and even with my suitcase closed, all of my clothes smelled like smoke...

Is this really the case? Right now I have a N/S at POR (is that really a request and not a guarantee?) and do not want to cancel unless I'm pretty confident I can get the N/S at CR. (This is crazy, I got a deluxe for less money and I'm worried .... It's just DH's first time and my first trip in 14 years ...)

Is this overflow rate for CR through SOG OR is it a SOG room which has relocated to CR? If it is a SOG room in the North wing, they are all Non-smoking. If it is overflow room, call back and tell them it is necessary for health reasons. They still may not guarantee it. Good luck!:)

Thanks! This is the SOG room, so therefore, I assumed I was in the North Wing. Wouldn't the SOG reservationist had known that the whole wing was Non-Smoking? Could they have changed the policy to accomodate SOG smokers?

I know, I worry too much.

At the bottom of the blue slip of paper that came with the letter I received, it says "All guest rooms are Smoke-free"! We can't tolerate smoke either and I do think I also read this on a thread earlier. :) Perhaps Firstno can reconfirm this info!;) Don't know why reservationist did not know this.

Thanks Wonderland Mom!

You've set my nerves at ease. I want this to be a very special trip for myself and DH.

Sog is a non-smoking resort. It is my understanding that the rooms in the North Wing were reserved for SoG because the North Wing is a non-smoking building. The South Wing allows smoking.

If you have allergies, or ashma (sp?), or any other MEDICAL problem that is triggered by smoke, let them know when you make the ressie and again when you check in... I have a non-smoking guarantee on my ressie from AKL and CBR due to my allergy to SMOKE!
