Can't get POFQ - Which Mod should I pick

I called this morning to try and get the discount on POFQ and was told it was unavailable. :sad2: They said I could switch to POR but I told them I needed to think about this.

The bus situation at POR really scares me. We stayed at POFQ last year and I saw those poor souls at POR being stuck at the bus stop. I don't want that to be me.

So I am trying to figure out which moderate will be best since I can't get the discount on my beloved POFQ.

I would appreciate hearing from people that have stayed at the other resorts and also any tips you could give in regards to which room or section it is best to request.

Thank you so much.

Don't be scared of POR! I've stayed there twice and loved it:love: ! the busses really aren't that bad. I'm trying POFQ in February - not because I don't like POR, just because I want to try something new!!

Stay at POR. Another bus will be right along if that happens to you, although it has never happened to me when I stay there. I'm at FQ right now and we have never left people behind at POR. I'd say use one of the smaller bus stops at POR if you are worried about getting left behind cause if the bus is full, it won't even go around the resort after the main stop, the next bus will come around.

The buses are nothing to worry about at POR. I love it there.

CSR! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. No shared transportation and quick rides to all the parks.

POR-it has a wonderful Disney feel. We just loved our stay there.

POR super resort..

Avoid CSR ... too many convention folks.. do not even think about being a female or bringing your wife/daughter to the pool there.. Like a bad singles bar scene and we had to have my wife give up going to the pool there due to the guys with the conventions..

But we did POr this year and it was really nice

schwaa & suzieN thanks for your input. It is good to hear that the buses aren't that bad. I always felt bad for the people we drove by so when I couldn't get POFQ I got nervous.

Buzz2001 I checked out your site. The resort looks beautiful but I am afraid it will be too big. I have two young girls and I don't want them to tire out on me before we make it to the park.

How is it to get around?

I am going to show my husband the pictures and info you have and see what he thinks. I really appreciate the info.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

Oh, that doesn't make me feel good. I think I will forget that one then.

I have two young daughters that will be with us. I don't want them around that kind of enviroment. Thanks for the info. :thumbsup2

I just got back from CSR on 7/22.

Everyone was so nice and helpful! there was a convention there and I didn't even REALIZE!!

The food is delicous, there's beauty everywhere you look and getting to any of the bus stops is not a long walk no matter where you stay.

and you can always hop a bus and get around to the main building if you don't want to walk with your girls.

I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter where you stay..but I saw the quote from someone's terrible CSR experience and honestly it's the first one i've ever seen like that. So i'm not quite sure you'd want to go on that alone.

My wife and I went to the pool bar (we're both women) and not only did NO ONE bother us, we were helped when I couldn't get the bar tenders attention. Everyone was kind and kept to themselves!

I'd say POR as well. CBR doesn't have elevators and is very spread out. I've stayed at CSR and didn't like it. I hate the armoire, its so tacky looking. I love mission style furniture, but that armoire escaped from the 70's. We stayed in Casitas 3. Translation, halfway between bus stop 1 and 2 and very far from the pool. I'd say go with what your comfortable with and know very well. If you really miss POFQ, its only a short boat ride or walk away.

I appreciate everyone's input and it gave me some stuff to think about. I have decided to go with what I am more comfortable with. I am going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside since we will be able to still use the pool over at FQ if my girls decide to do so.

I did look over CSR and CBR and they both look really nice but I really did have my heart set on FQ so I guess I will have to give in and take the next best thing.

Thanks again everyone, you really did put me at ease about Riverside. I appreciate it.

I was going to tell you POR as well, but you've already decided!;)
The good thing for you is that you could still wander over to POFQ and look around or even go for a swim since the properties are right next to each other!
Have a great trip!

Very True. I am actually getting excited about it. Thank you so much for the positive responses. :thumbsup2

Didn't Will say it best, "To thine own self be true." I think you knew where you wanted to stay, but just needed us to confirm that. Okay, enough of the Lucy Van Pelt psychoanalysis. That will be 5 cents please. :rotfl:

We stayed at PO-Riverside when it was still Dixie Landings. We had a wonderful time and never had any problems getting a seat on the bus. Last year my sister and I stayed at POFQ, and I couldn't believe how many people they tried to squeeze on the bus when making their round at PO-Riverside. Both times was in September, so I can't really blame it on the time of year. It sounds like they have approved the bus situation though. :)

I think you are probably right. :lmao:

From someone who has been to CSR, I would definitely pick CSR over POFQ/POR. It has the best transportation of all the mods, best pool and food options. I've stay at 3 of the mods and CSR is the best by far. No issues with any belligerent guests and the CM's are great. POFQ/POR shares transportation and can be a nightmare leaving the parks.

We had this problem last year and decided to stay at Riverside as well. It is a beautiful resort and we enjoyed ourselves. We are partial to POFQ though and are heading back there again this Sept.:goodvibes

I wouldn't worry about that at all. My two daughters and I have a great time at CSR! It's our favorite resort. They love the main pool area. They would stay there all day. We never had any problems. Some of the comments on the DIS have to be taken with a grain of salt.

I love POR, it's my favorite resort (POFQ is my 2nd favorite). The grounds are just beautiful and we have never had any problems w/ the buses.
I don't really care for CSR, it just didn't have that tranquil feel I like.
Never stayed at CBR, too "bright" for my taste.
