Can't get my custom Avatar to work

I have wasted most of the afternoon trying to get my custom Avatar to work. Grrrrrrrrrrr

I only wanted to update it for the new year. Any tips or ideas as to what is going wrong ?? I resized it using some online program but it wont work.

I was having issues with this today. I tried about 3 different pics before I finally worked out how to do it. I used 'Paint' to 'Resize' the image and get the pixels under 100. Then I 'Saved As' a GIF file and it finally worked. JPEGs weren't working.

Thanks for the help WanderlustNZ I did as you said and it still didn't work. I just went to photobucket and made it tiny and copied the "direct link" it worked but the image is tiny and not great quality but it's will do.
