I really wanted to get the Dining Plan for the three of us (DH,DW,DD) but since we had already booked our room, and bought PH's we were not allowed to add it on. The CM said it was something about that we did not book a package, and had gotten a code discount on the room. Unfortunatly we won't be able to use the DDP next time either since we bought 10 day park hopper, no expiration, and will just book a room again. Anyone else run across this? Or anyone got more info re the DDP that will helpme out? Thanks

Currently, only those folks that buy a package through Disney, including ticket and room, are eligible for the dining plan. Discounts on these packages are few and far between, the most consistent being an AAA discount. Occasionally there are also public discount codes for these packages, as well as private PIN codes.

Annual Pass holders, FL resident rates and DVC reservations are also not currently eligible for the dining plan, DVC is considered a "room only" ressie and AP/FL res discounts are also highly discounted room only ressies. Rumor has it that something is "in the works" for these type of ressies, but don't hold your breath. AP holders can get the DDE card, good for 20% discounts at almost all table service and buffet eateries.

You can get the dining plan by booking a MYW package for the room (with no discount), and with MYW base tix for as little as one day. The tickets do not have to be as long as the room reservation. You can also either use those one day tickets on that trip, or save them for the next time (they don't expire if you don't use them). It's something to think about if you really want the dining plan next time.
