I was unable to get ADRs for a couple of restaurants we really love. Is it possible to be seated if we just walk in at the time we want to eat? (Understanding that there may be quite a wait!)

We weren't able to do Le Cellier, Rose & Crown or 1900 Park Fare (yes, I'm watching the cancellation thread!) this time. Has anyone ever successfully walked in and been able to get a table? We are 5 people (4 seated, 1 infant).

We have been successful in walk ups but we are just 2 people and usually go right when a restaurant is opening...I would say go very early

When will you be there? If you are going during Free Dining, many restaurants will have signs posted that they are unable to accommodate walk-in's at all.

If you have a dining plan, I would recommend getting an ADR somewhere, even if it's not your first choice or you have to leave the park for a nearby resort. If you're not worried about losing credits, you can try walking up and if it doesn't work, you always have counter service available. You can also try making ADR's while you're there, either at Guest Services or your hotels concierge desk.

I agree that showing up very early - like 10 minutes before the restaurant opens for that meal - is your best bet to get a table without an ADR. That or showing up very late - after 9pm.

You can always try, but it is not easy.Especially if free dining is going on and given the popularity of the places you listed. If you are going to attempt it , I would go right at restaurant opening

Thanks for the advice - we are going next month (11/26 - 12/1) during free dining and I didn't realize that there might not be any walk-up access. I do have ADRs for most of our meals and had just looked to switch a few of those out for the more coveted ADRs mentioned. However, it seems I"ll keep the ones we have and try for the others during our next WDW trip. :)

We were at R&C at 7:30pm on a Sunday night and they were packed. A CM came through the line to let people know they weren't taking walk-ins. Maybe try going here really early.

Is that during the Candlelight Processional? I found it very difficult to get ressies at the restaurants that have the dining packages for the Candlelight Processional.

When we went a few weeks ago, we had ADRs at Le Cellier for lunch and that's the only time I actually heard one of the restaurants actively turning people away. We heard several turned away as we checked in and others as we were leaving. Le Cellier is not very big! I doubt you would be able to walk in there. Ohana had a line forming waiting for walk ins.

We tried to do a walk up Le Cellier Dec 2008 and. The CM looked at us like we had 3 heads...lol!!

Using your smartphone you can also try for "day of" ressies. We have done that with success in the past. One time we were riding the attracation in the Land (not Soarin) and I was able to snag Via Napoli for about an hour later.

We were there in August during free dining and walked in to a few places-mama melrose, CP, and tony's with under 15 min waits. I would recommend trying at odd times.

Also, we had a 11:30am ressie for Le Cellier and were there around 11:15 and people were walking up and they told them 15 mins so its possible-I would try around 11am on a week day. We went to 1900 Park Fare-ressie at 545pm-it got really busy after that so get there by 5pm. It was a Fri night though.:)

I think the weather can also be a factor in the likelihood of getting a walk up. My sister's family of 4 once got a walk up at LeCellier at prime dinner time. It was January, and had been raining most of the day. I think a lot of people who had ADR's were probably no shows because they were cold, wet, and just went back to their rooms and ordered pizza!
