Can't find this in guide

Question about combining magic pins - yes I have done this before.

I am trying to combine my cursed storms. I get it all ready to go and it asks if I really want to combine the pins and I say okay and the whole operation just stops. In other words I still have the two separate pins. Ugh.

Can someone walk me through how to combine magic pins? I checked the player's guide but did not see answer.

click on the first pin, then click on combine.

then click on the pin you want to combine it with.

okay it finally worked, thanks to the lava advice - I also note you probably should not be WEARING either pin, as that seemed to make it mess up.
