People made a lot of comments on the house we are thinking of getting which made some great points. This has me second guessing myself, and wanting to find another house.

SOOOO, now I can't find another house I like in my area. I need to be under 570,000 with either 4 bedrooms or 3 and den with a laundry upstairs and within 30 minutes of Redmond...so, bothell, woodinville, redmond, kirkland etc.

I have a love/hate relationship with house hunting.

Think I should start looking FSBO's??

YOu could try looking out in Issaquah. There are a lot of homes like the one you were looking at. It isnt as expensive and still 30 min from redmond. Also Issaquah is a good family oriented town. Good schools and wonderful community. But really remember it is up to you. What we say on the boards is our opinion and your opinion is the only one that matters when buying a house. If you love the house then get it, dont let us talk you out of it.

I haven't read your other thread or comments (although I did look at the floorplan). I just wanted to say, you need to find whats right for you...we looked for months and months in all of northeast illinois when we were house hunting. We had down payments twice and there was something that just wasn't pefect for us, and we backed out of them. When we found our location we're currently at, we had no doubts...we had our house built, and of course there are some things we'd change, but love the location, love the house and don't plan on moving.

Check out www.redfin.com. It will show you all the houses that are available and what any house has sold for. You can search by area, price, etc.

By the way, my floorplan is very similar to the one you picked out and I love it. (I don't have a living room though.)

Sorry folks, it's only for the Seattle area. :-)

DH and I have lived in 5 houses in three different states in the past 12 years. From my experience I can say that no house is perfect. You pick the things that are most important to you and do the best you can. You can drive yourself crazy trying to cover every little detail. I say evaluate a new house the best you can, and then go with your heart ... it's going to be your home, not just a structure you're building. Look at the big picture and if it fits gow tih it, and don't second guess yourself too much. Good luck!

I think the floorplan looks great. Even better, you won't be getting a teeny-tiny lot. I say go for it. You are going to love moving into a brand new house.

Thanks so much for this....and you too Mary.

Makes me feel better, and this house DOES meet all of my priorities.

When I was looking for my house here in FL I looked at 30 houses in a weekend with a realtor. House #25 was a FSBO. I didn't want to look since they were home but the realtor said I should. I am so glad I did. That is the house I bought and I love it.
