Looking at those pictures made me cry.
My prayers are with the family-I can't imagine the devastation they must feel.

... God bless this young Marine, his family and friends... The look on his parents' faces is devastating... I can not begin to imagine the total loss and despair they are feeling...

Reading about the Marine's traditions gave me chills. I grew up with a dad in the Army so I know all about military tradition, and to this day I can't hear that kind of stuff without getting chills and a lump in my throat.TwinMom7 said:My son explained some of the tradition/respect to the fallen Marine....when his body left Iraq, it was accompanied by another Marine to Dover Air Force Base. At that time, a Marine from this home unit flew to Dover to accompany the body home. At the visitation, two Marines stood at Parade Rest at the head and the foot of the casket. As my son explained to me, "he was never left alone."
The tradition alone is enough to bring me to tears.

It got even worse when I looked up and saw a pair of boots on the other side of the room nearly identical to those pictured which DS had left the last time he was home on leave.
