About 1 1/2 yrs ago, we stayed at the Contemporary (sp?) because we wanted to be as close to The Magic Kingdom as possible since we had a 1 1/2yr old who needed to nap.

Well, when we go again this Nov, she will be 3 1/2, she may or may not be napping, so we're torn as to whether or not we should try something new for us, The Animal Kingdom Resort (w/ savannah view) or stay closer to MK and pay more $$ for the Polonysian Resort (again, sp?).

I am familiar with the PR but not AKR. Can anyone tell me from personal experience what the Amimal Resort is like to stay at?

Thanks!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is spectacular! The bus service is wonderful. One stop and no sharing with another resort-you're on, you're off-that easy. We stayed there over Labor Day weekend and went to all the parks and DTD. We did take a break every day at the resort for a swim and nap. It didn't take long at all (15 minutes to MK). I haven't stayed at the Poly (yet), but had dinner there one night. It is gorgeous! It would be very covenient to the MK and Epcot. How long are you going for? You might want to split your stay. I can't think of any reason not to stay at either!

I would try a different resort just for the experience of it. Each one has so much to offer and is so different.

AKL is my families favorite. But if you feel you need the monorail, why not try the Polynesian?

HAnds down AKL. There is so many great activities for your little one to do there! Not to mention the animals. Our DD only wants to stay at AKL. She really loved it! She was 2 at the time. It is just our favorite resort. It's great for the kids and the parents. Try it - trust me you'll LOVE it!

Both are great. Poly is more $$$ but has the monorail. AKL is the newer and nicer resort(IMHO).:D
