This will be our first trip out of 5 to Disney that we are going to check out Universal, too. My son is now 17 and daughter is 14, so I figured it was probably time. We will have 9 days and are staying at a Disney resort with free dining.

Of course, I've seen the online deal for $99 per person for both parks for 7 days. I have also seen a Ticketmaster deal through Mousesavers for 2 days/2parks for $75. I'm trying to decide if we really need more than 2 days for our first trip (especially since we're doing Disney, too). I know the savings of $100 isn't a big deal to alot of people, but, to me, it is $100!;) I don't want to spend it if we're not going to need/want more than 2 days at Universal.

Any advice?

It all depends on what time of year you are going cause if its during peak time then the parks will be very busy .
I think and others may disagree but I think that 1 day per park is fine but on the other hand I am a universal junkie and only get to the parks once a year so I spend as much time at the parks as I can :thumbsup2

We're going the first week of October.
Then 1 day per park should be fine and the only thing will be I think is HHN will be at studios park so unless I am mistaking it will close at 5pm

I have teens (14 & 16) and last time we were there we spent 7 days between US/IOA. We're going again the last week of April for 5 days. While you can do a park a day its going to be tough to get it all in if you want to ride everything and see all the shows. To truly do the parks justice I think you need at least three days.

If your children are thrill ride junkies (like mine) they'll love it at US/IOA. Just make sure you do your days there are the end of the trip. If you do them at the beginning and then go to WDW if your teens are anything like mine they'll be complaining that WDW is "lame" compared to US/IOA.

Well we`re coming over for two weeks in August and plan to spend a lot more time at Universal than Disney. Our son is 15 and although he still enjoys Disney especially RnR and TOT we all much prefer the bigger rides at IOA. So even though it will be a bit quieter in Oct I would think 3 days minimum if you all enjoy rides.
Would definately agree keep Universal to the end, and do the fluffy stuff early on your trip.
And have you considered the HHN`s since you are there when it`s on? If you can..... go.It`s the best fun ever:cool1: My son was 14 the first time we went and just loved it, as did we.
Happy planning :thumbsup2
