Hi,
I've read the information on the Disboard, but I'm still having a hard time deciding between the Paradise Pier and the Disneyland Hotel. I'll be at DL over the Easter holiday with my son. I know it will be crowded, so I want to be on-site and be able to take advantage of the AAA fastpass for our stay. I keep seeing bad reviews for both hotels. Does one of the hotels have advantages over the other? Thanks in advance!

We were debating over the 2 hotels for our upcoming trip. Our deciding factors were DLH had the infamouse Neverland Pool, pixie dust on walls, location right at the end of downtown disney and whether good or bad, it's the disney hotel. We plan on going back to the hotel in the afternoon for a swim and actually using the hotel for more than just a place to sleep at night.

I've never stayed at the PP before so I couldn't base my opinion on it, but I have been inside of it and it seems very nice! Before the Grand Californian opened we stayed at DLH all the time! As others have said, there's the pixie dust on the walls, the Neverland pool, Goofy's Kitchen, Granville's Steak House, and The Lost Bar. Hope you have a great trip on whatever you decide on! :thumbsup2

I have stayed at all 3 of the DL Resorts. Out of the DLH and PP I would stay at PP. Last time I stayed at DLH, the room appeared run down. The loby and surrounding areas were nice, but the room could have used improvements.

I haven't stayed at PP, but I love the DLH. It is a lot closer to the monorail station and it is a classic!

The DLH is really comfortable for us. WE always ask for the rooms with 2 queen beds and the sofa sleeper and in the Sierra Tower with the DTD View. We will take a standard view if we get good AP rates but if we have to pay more, it is worth it to have a nice view.
I think the PP rooms are actually bigger but it is a longer walk. The pool is not as nice and there really are no grounds to speak of while DH has lots of beautiful grounds, more restaurants and even remote boats for the kids to play. PP with the park view is pretty incredible and beautiful though so we always compare the prices, don't forget if you are AAA it is the same discount (10%) as AP unless they are running AP specials. We would pick DLH view 1st, then PP Park view and then standard view DLH in that order depending on price.

We love the DLH, stayed there Jan. 27 for five nights and they upgraded us free. nice big room, view of the pool et al. It's the second time we have stayed there and my dd 5 loves it.

Just putting my opinion in. We have never stayed at PP but after our stay at DLH I cannot imagine staying elsewhere.

Are any of the resort hotels available? That is coming up pretty quick, and with the current specials they are filling up quick. If they are both avaible and its not a matter of price I would go with the DLH.

DLH has two sizes of standard rooms. One is 354 and 415 square feet and PP has one size standard rooms which are 364 square feet. Therefore, PP standard rooms are bigger and smaller than DLH rooms depending on which room you get.

SO MsYumibear, do you know which location in DH has the larger rooms? Is it one tower specifically or a certain area of a floor, like the corner rooms for example? If you get the 2 queen with sofa bed, are you getting the larger room? Thanks in advance!

Last time we were in Bonita Tower looking inward toward the koi ponds/waterfall and the actual sleeping area seemed smaller but there was a giant area with the desk and closet outside the bathroom. The sink was inside the bathroom unlike our room in the Sierra tower. I didn't think I would like it but it turned out to be great for me to get up and dressed before I woke the kids up! Wonder if that was a small room or a large room?

Thanks Everyone! I'm going to go with the DLH. It sounds like the Sierra tower is the most convenient. Is there a particular view that I should request? Maybe we'll get lucky and get what we ask for.
