We will be staying at AKL in June and plan to eat one breakfast buffet on our trip. We can't decide between Boma - very convenient, or Crystal Palace - we have never had breakfast in the parks before it opens and think it might be fun. Which would you choose?

That's a hard one! We ate at both places for breakfast last trip....both were very good.

If you want a character breakfast then go fo CP....if not and want a more laid back breakfast then go for Boma!

Or just go for both!! ;)

HTH!

That's really a tough one. I like the idea of just walking over to the hotel restaurant to eat, but I also really like Crystal Palace.

I guess if you don't care one way or another about the characters or potentially getting into the park early with no people there, then go to Boma. Or, if you really want the former, then go for Crystal Palace. Can you do both?

I vote for Chrystal Palace with reservations before the park opens. food is great and characters are great too.
Also on the plus side is the fact you can get some great pics in front of the castle and on main street before the crowds get in.

We're doing CP for lunch on our upcoming trip. Didn't know it was such a hit for breakfast until too late to get any resv. Did Boma last trip & it was the only place my DH asked to go back to (not that any of the others were bad, Boma was just his favorite.) We loved the extent of the selections for bkfst. Some were a little out there for us, but plenty of traditional American bkfst foods also. I think we drank our weight in Boma juice! Really comes down to what you're looking for. I'm sure you'll enjoy either one!

that is very, very tough. We really really liked our Crystal Palace 8:05 breakfast...great food, and it was very fresh; characters were all around in 30 minutes because the place was only 1/3 full (they don't seat all the tables right away...stagger the seating so the wait staff and kitchen isn't trying to serve all the tables at once) And we were back at the Fantasyland rope at 8:55...were the 2nd party on Peter Pan just after 9:00 a.m.

However, Boma is the best breakfast buffet, food-wise, on property (and outstanding coffee there too, as well as great service.)

I would say choose based on whether you want that early-in-the-park or not...you'll get good food both places. If you're more interested in the food, then Boma is better.

Crystal Palace only if you can get a reservation that is before park opening.

Boma breakfast is very delicious.

Another vote for Crystal Palace here, and I agree....get a reservation before the park opens! We have done this in the past, and we are doing it again in July. We make 8:00am reservations, and take AWESOME pics down Main St. in front of the castle with almost no one there. It's a great photo op!!:) The food is great...my two teenage boys love Pooh's french toast (I think that's what it's called).

Thanks for the replies! We can't do both - DH has put us on a food budget, grrr.... Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so he is treating me to a buffet on my birthday :goodvibes From what I am reading, Crystal Palace is the place to go for the experience and Boma is the place to go for the better food. I know Boma is also known for their coffee, but I saw that it is not included in the buffet price. Does anyone know how much it is?
Right now I think I am leaning toward Crystal Palace, but something is still telling me to not rule Boma out! Ahh... decisions!

I think the food at Crystal Palace is absolutely Fantastic, and the character interaction is great. I wish I could eat there for breakfast every day!

I do love Boma a lot, and the food is good. But I think for your birthday, CP would be the way to go :goodvibes

I'll play the role of dissenter in this thread. I adore Boma and definitely prefer it to Crystal Palace, even with the added perk of walking down an empty Main Street. I suppose the answer depends on what you're looking for out of the experience. I generally base my restaurant decisions almost entirely on food quality. I love eating at restaurants and look forward to my meals on vacation. I think Boma serves the absolute best breakfast on Disney property, while Crystal Palace is quite ordinary.

But if you're looking for a place to celebrate with characters, or if you value the chance to enter the Magic Kingdom an hour early, I certainly would not argue with your decision to try Crystal Palace. The two places offer different experiences. You just have to figure out what you want!

Have heard great things about Boma breakfast...haven't done it myself

BUT I CAN say for sure that I LOVE LOVE Crystal Palace breakfast---have done it MANY times (pretty much every trip lol) and the food is great, fresh, and the setting is gorgeous and the characters are some of my faves (always been a Winnie the Pooh fan!)

Sorry I can't comment on Boma...but I hope my expression of love for CP helps ha ;)

I have eaten at both Boma and CP, and to be honest I thought both served good food. I did not think that the food at Boma was head and shoulders above CP, or vice versa. We are talking about a Disney buffet here, and for the most part they all serve the same food (I understand there are a few differences). But at the end of the day, the opportunity to get a picture of the iconic Disney castle with minimal people around places CP above Boma in my mind. I also like the character interaction at CP.

IMHO the view of walking down Main Street and seeing the castle before rope drop & character interaction is worth selecting CP over Boma.

I've never done Boma breakfast, but am seriously interested in it for my next trip. That said, I've done Crystal Palace breakfast on both previous trips, and when I do book another trip, that will be my single most important ADR to get, that 8:05 CP breakfast. I enjoyed the food and characters at CP, but yeah, I'll admit, the real perk is being bright and early at MK. :thumbsup2

Yes the coffee is included in the price of the buffet:) Personally i would choose "Boma" for my birthday breakfast:)

:goodvibes

We've been to Boma for breakfast a couple years ago and really enjoyed it. However, CP is a must for us every time we visit. The food is just as good as Boma and the character interaction and walking down main street and getting some good pictures while the park is empty is an added bonus...just make sure you get the first seating so you can get out of the restaurant and into the park before the crowds, which is another bonus!

:thumbsup2I'd go for Crystal Palace all the way. I've ate at both of these places and was more impressed with CP. Boma wasn't bad, me and my family just aren't ones for exotic foods and meats for breakfast. We would rather go for the classic eggs, biscuits, and pancakes for our breakfast.:rainbow::ccat::donald::sulley::tigger::hmghost::mickeyjum:goofy::figment::dumbo::stitch::simba::maleficen
