I am traveling with my DH, DS 61/2 and DD 11mths next April. I have been researching both cat . 3 and cat.4. I just can't decide if the extra space is worth the money. This is the first time cruise for all of us. I know she will still be napping and on formula. Thought having the wet bar and vcr might be nice. Help!!! Any comments on these two catagories. Thanks Linda

My son and daughter in law traveled with us in March with their 6 yr old daughter and 15 mo. old daughter. They stayed in a Cat. 6 which was perfect! If $$$ is no object, I would go for the Cat. 3 more for the adults! However, the others are no problem at all. The Cat 4 really has very little additional space. Just enough for the pull down bed. Our 6 1/2 yr old preferred the ceiling pull down bunk bed - she thought that was great and wanted no part of the 'regular' sofa bed. The pack and play for the infant was just fine. You also have a privacy curtain to divide the two sections of the room.

If it's just the 4 of you, I would go for a cat 6 and save the money for excursions instead. But, as stated above, if money is no object, go for a cat 3. It'll be more spacious. I just don't think it's worth it. You don't get much more for a cat 4.

It really depends on what is important to you and what you want to spend your money on.

If you think you'll be spending a lot of time in the cabin then you may want to opt for more room. If you want a private area to stare at the water, then a veranda is nice. If you prefer to spend your money on other things - excursions, treats, spa etc. then lowest price becomes the primary deciding factor.

We went with a category 3 because we like the extra space and know that we will be spending time in the cabin. To have those features was worth the cost for us. For my sister, she wanted the cheapest cabin with a view. As you can tell, even within a family, there are different ideas of what is perfect!

we stayed in a cat 3 and it was worth every penny extra and then some...
an absolutely beautiful suite....
i would have preferred a cat 1 or 2 but neither was available (i prefer to have the kids in an actual bedroom as opposed to in the living room)...
however the cat 3 worked out fine, especially since they close the beds in the day and return the living room to it's daytime state...

make sure you get one of the 4 cat 3 cabins in the midship area....(right next to the two cat 1 cabins)....
they are larger than the other cat 3 rooms on the ship......
i think the numbers are 8032, 8034, 8532 and 8534..

we had 8534 and it was stunning....as i said, worth every penny we paid for it....i would have been happy never leaving the suite...
