Please tell me the good and the bad about Garden Grill. I can't decide to go or not. Catfish does not appeal to me!! Is it worth it?

Garden Grill is one of the few restaurants in WDW that my whole family agrees on!! We have eaten there several times and each time it has been terrific. I don't eat any fish but dh does. He liked the catfish. But, there is also plenty of other stuff on the platter to choose from. We love the salad and the bread there. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The atmosphere is nice. It is also pretty quiet compared to other character meals. There are two choices of seating...the upper tier has table/chair type seating. It seems to be a little noisier up there. The level just below it has semi-circular booths. It is quieter down here. It is my favorite spot. The characters are good also. I am always comfortable suggesting GG to people.

We love it - all the food is great and served family style, the chicken was wonderful as was the salad. Its a nice change of pace from the typical vacation fare. We also found the characters less rushed and the seating more private than other meals.

I really enjoyed it. The steak was really good. I tried the catfish it wasn't bad and I am not a fish eater. There are plenty of other things to eat there too. I really loved the half circle booths and that the restaurant revolves.

We ate lunch there last week. The family style meal consists of three "meats". One was roast chicken, flank steak, and catfish. Keep in mind that you can ask for refills of any (or all) of those. We ended up with "refills" on the flank steak and the veggies. I tried the catfish (don't like it). The chicken was good and the flank steak was good.::yes::

I can't tell you anything bad except that I always eat too much LOL!!:hyper:

If you don't like catfish don't eat it, the flank steak is excellent!! There's also roasted chicken that is quite tastey. The stuffing and the veggies are delicious as well!!

It's a fun place, just make a PS and go. Fun character interaction and tastey very fresh food!

If no one in your party likes fish, you could ask the server not to bring the catfish out, that you know you won't eat it. I would think either the chicken or flank steak would be enough meat, especially sine they will bring out more for you.

Can't give a review, we haven't eaten there yet!

Yes do give it a try, we liked it very much and I am sure if you let your server know that you don't want the fish it won't be a problem. When we went my sister was with us and she is allergic to fish so the server put it in a seperate bowl and we had no problems.

My husband and I ate here in 2002 and we didn't like it but we went for a late lunch are hot food was cold and are server didn't want to bother with us or it seemed like it. We only asked for a refill on the potato's so I din't think we were being to much of a pain. But I'll stick to the buffets with the standard line and serve yourself. But the characters were good and we might of just had a bad expereince. But when we went there was only two other sets of people in the entire place so I don't know what happen maybe were better off to go when it was busy. But give it a try. You have to experiece it and make up your own mind. Personaly I dind't care for the food nor did my husband and that trip we ate alot of counter service so I'm not really picky. OH WELL KELLY

We tried it for the first time 3 years ago and have made it a "must-do" every trip. Previous posters are right, it is great character interaction for the kids. Every time we have gone, the characters have come around at least 3 times. The last time we ate there, Chip and Mickey came and sat at our table for a bit because the restaurant was practically deserted (we were eating at an off time).

Also, I had never eaten catfish in my life and tried it for the first time at Garden Grill. Now I look forward to getting it when we go (I still don't eat it anywhere else though) :)

Overall we really enjoyed this dinner. We waited about 20 minutes with a PS (early December). They had flank steak, catfish and turkey breast. I didn't think I liked catfish, but it wasn't bad (not real "fishy" tasting). I also don't eat beef, but DH said it was o.k., but a little tough. Turkey, veggies, salad and dessert all very good. Our server was busy, but adequate. We saw the characters several times.

I have tried catfish many times...It always tastes like mud...(welll, whaddya expect from a bottom-feeding, garbage-eating fish, huh?.....) Then I ate it at Garden Grill....wonderful taste...no mud...yayyyy! Everything else was great, too. I made a right pig of myself.......sigh.......
