Can't decide-3rd wk in May or 3rd wk in Sept?

We took our first trip to WDW last year the last wk of Aug. It was so humid! But we loved the crowd levels. Pretty much walked onto every ride. We want to go back, but don't want it as hot. That being said, we loved coming back and swimming around 9-10. Is it warm enough to swim late in May? Is it still horribly humid that far into Sept?
The other part of our decision is in May we will have a 5 & 2 yr old, so we won't have to pay for 2yr old. By Sept he will be three. Going in May as of right now will save about $200 for us, but last year we got in on the free dinning. Do they offer some kind of deal every year at that time of fall? I know last year the free dining thing didn't come out until around beg of June, so what should we do? One last thing, if we wait until Sept we will have to take 5yr old out of Kindergarten for three days(thay have two days off for in service).
Any advice?

My sil went the 2nd week in Sept and she said it was so hot and humid they could barely stand it, that being said we live in Pennsylvania and we get really hot and humid summers here so she was surprised by how much worse it felt down there then it does here. I've heard May is nice and that's proably when we'll go.

We've been in September twice & May once & we enjoyed both timeframes. We'll be returning in September again this year.

September is definitely still very hot & humid (we enjoy that we can easily swim daily), greater chance for those daily rain showers & always a possibility of a Hurricane to complicate your trip (we were there with Jeanne in Sept 2004.) But, overall, we still seem to enjoy September more than any other time of the year - warm weather & lower crowds than May.

May was a fun trip for our anniversary last year - we enjoyed the Flower & Garden show at Epcot & didn't see a drop of rain all week! We also found the crowds heavier than in September - and definitely not nearly as hot/humid yet. The only other complaint about May is that we paid more for our Resort since May was Regular season & September is Value season - this is a big deciding factor for us.

I think both times are some of the best to go crowd-wise - you'll have a great time either way!!

For the last two years we have been in May and Sept. Both times are great. I think the weather is better in May, less humid but still sunny and warm. In my pics I am wearing sweaters at night sometimes. The Flower festival is really pretty. The parks are not crowded at all.

Sept is humid and can be rainy-also the threat of hurricanes is there. However, the parks are really quiet. It is a great time to go, but so is May.

Whichever you pick will be great.

I haven't been in Sept but have been in May twice (I was there at the end of August once though - almost Sept!).

I'd take May - likely to be cooler and less humid and less rain. Also no chance of hurricanes. Plus your child is still young enough to go for free and you don't have to worry about school issues (although pulling out of kindergarten shouldn't be a big deal - at least it won't be a concern at all).

Overall just cause of the weather I'd go in May!

Having lived in Florida and having family that lives in Florida, September is the most miserable month for them. They are all trying to get *out* of Florida at that point!

Just an FYI: We booked airfare on Southwest for May 19-25th over the weekend for $77 each way for adults.
