Can't Believe My Luck.....

So I've been waitlisted for a st view studio at BWV since early December....I have 3 nights but am waiting for 2 more nights. I'd would have taken ANYTHING at either BWV or BCV for any time during F & W.

Along with being a DVC member, I'm also an Interval International member because we own at another resort and I had a cancellation replacement week that we needed to use and I woke up one morning and was looking on the II website for any DVC resorts that may be hiding and what was sitting there???

A 1BR unit at BCV for Halloween week (our preferred week for F&W)

So, I managed to get a full week in a 1BR at BCV, for the week I wanted, can still get the DDP all to the tune of $234 (the exchange fee + Disney's $95 fee), and I got to use that pesky cancellation replacement week!

It's fun to go into II and see what DVC's show up. I came across a BCV studio for sometime in October a few months back.

Congrats!! We also had a cancelation week that needed to be used. We reserved a 1bdrm at OKW this summer. We are going for DH's birthday and have never stayed there. I haven't seen too many 1 bdrms for DVC on II - mostly studios. Great trade!

It must be your trading power or you're looking later in the day after they've been picked over, there has been a lot of 1 BR availability over the past few years.

Nope, it's fact that I have a regional block on my Orlando - which I trade- but not with my HHI - which we always occupy....except this time. I still look occasionally with it and always early in the am. I just don't look on a regular basis.

I've seen 1br's at OKW and SSR mainly, but have come across BWV and VWL.

I don't look religiously(have enough points) and I usually don't get on until 8:30 am so I imagine the good stuff might be gone by then. Some of the TUGers start the DVC hunt on II before the sun is up.

I work for II and am forbidden to service my own account, but the best time to look is first thing in the morning. So....I have my morning cup of coffee and take a look at what's out there before I head off to work.....I really didn't think I'd be lucky enough to get something for that particular week.

I've heard of people actually setting their alarms to get up and search! I'm up at 5:45; if it is gone by then, so be it!

Last time I saw a thread from you... you had just found some very interesting architectual renderings of a "Contemporary DVC". Then much speculation and no acknowledgement by Disney. What a spot you hold in DISboards history.

I was dining at Cali Grill not too long ago & it was so great to see it actually being built...I just can't wait to sign by the Mickey Ears for this one
