Can't Believe He Said YES!

I could have sworn I had a whole list of responses typed out and posted but apparently they didnt take :confused3

I am now down to having to finish off 3 of the AK shirts I've made and since the paint around the Tree of Life (done in very camo giraffe print) has dried I bring you an example of this shirt:

WDWPTR003.jpg

This is the Front...I got 3 shots off of the front of this shirt but this was by far the cutest of all 3 :rotfl2:
WDWPTR004.jpg

This is the back...I only got this shot because she grabbed 2 barbie dolls thinking I wanted to take pics of the dolls.:rotfl:

I'm so tempted to do the DDD right now because offically I'm in that zone for seeing DH! We are at the 100 day mark until we arrive at Disney though! One more day left and I can offically do the DDD (double diget dance which looks something like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ4Jp3vCtPk
Sorry you have to click on the link because I couldnt figure out how to imbed the video (not yet that net savy) But I promise it's good! This is how every DDD and SDD (single diget dance) should be! I only wish I had the back up dancers this guy had! They really no how to get the point across about him being happy!

I've decided to send the Single Soilder (or SS as I will refer to him in future posts) both the Original Tron and the New Tron (I call it the New tron because I cant remember the name of it for the life of me...other then Tron!) for a thank you/birthday gift. I have to have it sent out by mid June though which shouldnt be a problem. Unless I procrastinate (which I've been known to do from time to time) but I dont think I will be doing that. I appologize for how slow this PTR is comming along but I promise that when the "Drive to VA to wait and see DH" portion arrives there will be more (that is also going to be the end of this PTR and the begining of the TR titled what I'm not sure yet but I have time to come up with one )

I'm in. Not sure how I missed that you had a PTR going on. What beautiful family you have :)

Love the tied on shirts:goodvibes and the AK shirts. I love being matchy matchy:rotfl: and Disney is the only place that allows us to do that without being looked at:rolleyes1

I love the being matchy too but for safety reasons. This way if we get seperated from eachother we just have to look for a certian color shirt. Having our name on the back helps to find the other adult or child from behind. It will also help when we take our girls to play in the Bone Yard if we look down while playing with Gillian we can spot Meghan and Hailey easily:rotfl2::rotfl2: Thank you for joining in!

Reciently, the government was in upheaval over a possible shut down, I know your probably wondering just HOW this fit's into a Disney PTR (it does I promise just give me a minute to explain). Because we are an Army family with one income, a shut down would have hurt us financially and on top of that had the shut down occured, DH would NOT have been able to have his leave in July for our trip this year:scared1::scared1::scared1: So I was hoping, praying, watching the news, blowing up my FB and the FB's of groups I belong to. Messaging, calling and emailing my Senator and Congressman and was very close to calling The White House. Thankfully though, at exactally 30 minutes BEFORE midnight on Friday (the deadline) they came up with an agreement! Leave is still on, our pay is intact and I think I now have a few more grey hairs.:laughing:

We are 95 days out now and after all this Government Drama, I am so ready to do more for this trip and our planning!

I know exactly how you felt over the shutdown, we were right there with you.

I know exactly how you felt over the shutdown, we were right there with you.

Dont you love how they kept us on the seats of our pants? It was like the take off for Rock 'n Rollercoaster the first time you ride it! So glad that all is cleared up for now though and both of our DH's get their much deserved vacations!

I reicently ran into another snag in my planning for our trip. When we filed our taxes in Febuary, I took some of the refund and bought several disney gift cards. The girls each got one for $50.00 and then I had several more done in larger amounts for DH and I. Well yesterday when I went to oohh and ahh over our tickets and the park maps I got in the mail, I noticed the envelope with the kids' gift cards were MIA (missing in action)! I litterally took apart EVERY bag I had packed for our upcomming trip (I know, 3 months out and I'm just about done packing :laughing:). I found Meghan and Gillians gift cards burried in the large suitcase I had designated for DH and I. The card for Hailey to use is now AWOL (absent without leave ). I told her that I didnt know if her dad would approve the purchase of another gift card for her to use in the parks and without it there would be no extras beyond a new pair of mouse ears with her name on them. No shirts, no dolls, no plushies, no cool pins or pens...nada. I talked to the DH last night though and explained the conundrum. He agreed that should she want a new gift card she needs to work for it and I wont be ordering it until the 15th of June. So until then she has to do every chore I tell her to do. She was not happy to hear this though when she came home from school.

Me: "Hailey..."
Her: "Yes Momma?"
Me: "I talked to Daddy last night and he says you can EARN back the gift card that was lost but your going to have to work for it, I'm not just going to give it to you like I did the first one."
Her: *casts eyes down and begins to frown in drama queen fashion*"Ok Momma, what do you want me to do first?"

After the unpacking and searching debacle I tried to get all of our things into one duffel bag. After realizing that I still had a few more things to buy and pack I have come to the conclusion that we will need 2 duffel bags as opposed to one. I am still trying to figure out if we can take our trading pins in our carry on (I should remember this from last year but I dont remember for the life of me :confused3) which will help with weight distribution in the end.

I hope all your trip planning moves are going well and will post more when I get a chance!

WOW... that was a close one. Thankfully it all worked out.

Too bad about DDs gift card. Do you have a number of the gift card? Maybe they can issue a new one.

Last year when I bought the GC's I got a list when they arrived each with the code for the correct GC and it's amount. This year, they just enclosed them in a large envelope with paper cards that held the actual GC's and envelopes.:confused3

I'm glad everything worked out in the end as well. It wasnt just my DH's leave I was worried about, we have friends who havent seen their families in 6 months and they were due to come up for leave soon as well.

DH did some investigating for me as to the SS who is doing the trade of leave days for him. Apparently he REALLY likes Red Bull and they often have shortages in Afghanistan so he asked me to buy him some and send it out. I'm still going to send Tron as well though because well for one I can wrap it. Two, it wont just disappear in a few days, he can watch it over and over again and it will be a form of entertainment. DH was a little disheartened though when I told him I would NOT be sending 2 copies of it out there and he could wait until he came home for leave to see it. He said that was ok, he would just barrow SS's copy :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I ended up sitting down last night to try to group all of our outfits together for the trip and realized really fast that I was in fact missing some things :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

So far I have to buy
3 pairs of shoes
several pairs of shorts and some tank tops
plain tee's and iron on transfers
a new first aid kit
tinkerbell fabric
uundergarments for me
sunglasses for DH
toiletries (toothpaset, toothbrushes)
So I'm going to be a very busy woman on the 15th. Since MDD has a half day and it's a Friday I'm just going to keep her home and she can have a semi-mommy and me day (semi because I still have YDD with me all the time).

I'm so glad things worked out for you and that vacation is still on!

I hope the gift card still turns up somewhere. I hate the feeling of losing something. My son lost his ipod touch, and it was sickening to think something like that was lost, maybe he left it somewhere... After searching and searching I found it, on my 3rd search of my car, fell down in the crack behind the armrest/cupholder in the back seat.

You are so organized and busy planning right now, I feel like a slacker!

I am begining to think that it along with my Sony Walkman MP3 player and my ODD's IPOD shuffel ended up at the playground outside and were either broke, stolen or thrown away:mad: DH says that he will be buying ODD a new shuffel for her birthday in May and that I can replace my MP3 player as well. I will just be buying a new lock box to keep them away from MDD in .

Don't feel like a slacker btw. I have been trying to "go with the flow" with this trip but then I just start remembering waiting 60 minutes in line to ride TSMM (ok so I didnt mind the wait and the kids liked being in the AC seeing all the decor in the que. YDD enjoyed being out of her stroller and going on a ride with all of us as well)So now I have my lists going, but they are not prefected. I also dont want a repeat of the year I went to visit my inlaws in KS....packed everything except for shirts for me and underwear for the kids :scared1: I So do NOT want to get to Disney and have to track down underwear:rotfl:

:scared1: That sounds like one of my bad dreams where I forget to pack everything.

Were you able to find some tinkerbell fabric? Can't wait to see what you are making.

Yes, it certainly helps to have a park plan of attack. I remember our first visit to DHS and just walking around, with no idea where to go. Very frustrating and overwhelming. Now that we've been to Disney more, we kind of just know what to do. We've always tried to go early, but never pushed for rope drop. After experiencing rope drop now, it's the way to go for us. I figure Disney is not the vacation you take if you want to relax! :rotfl: Plus I get up at 5:30 am for work anyway. I'd much rather get up for Disney! I would hate to wait 60 minutes for a ride. Guess I'm spoiled going in January and lower crowd levels. It is easier now that both my boys can go on the rides. No way we could have waited in lines while trying to keep the one entertained that couldn't ride! We did wait for BTMR this year though, and it wasn't too bad, so I guess I wouldn't mind it too much!

We've never waited in the stanby line for TSMM, it looks so neat, maybe it helps pass the time. Our plan for DHS is the TSMM rope drop rush for fast passes. I never found it to be bad, just a fast walk, no stampedes! :confused3 But again, it was January. No one will go with me on RnRC or ToT :sad1:

I had to double check and see if I posted a pic of the shirt I made with the Tinkerbell Fabric and yep I did, it's on page 1 (I also posted it on the DISBoutique thread and I *think I posted it on the July trip board). Aquiring more fabric though is going to take me going to the JoAnn's site and using my coupon's to order it. On the upside alteast the website sells it by the yard instead of by the inch

On our last trip, we got talked into doing a DVC tour (which I would :love: to buy into but DH has to be on board and I'd like to not have some of the credit cards we have now) and they said they would give us FP's and drop us off at what ever park we wanted to go to. So DSis and I said ok and then asked to be taken to DHS....it was WAY after rope drop and the lines for FP's were several people thick. We just said what the hay and stood in the 60 minute line. Gillian had on her back pack and could walk around between the 4 of us and she LOVED seeing all the "toys". She wanted to grab Mr. Potato head though and take him home with her :lmao:
I have to admit though that due to lack of planning on my part I didnt know HALF of the stuff that was in DHS and missed out on things I would have liked to have done. For example this time we will be avoiding the backlot tour and instead go for The Great Movie Ride. Meghan loves to draw and wants to do the Animation thing you can do and DH wants to do Indiana Jones. We did learn though that the best time to ride ToT and RR is when Fantasmic is going on :rotfl2:

Reading your PTR is like looking into my own mind LOL So many similarities! I was not planning a big trip for R&R (my hubby is in Afghan. too) but then my son came up to me one day and told me he wanted to go back and see Mickey Mouse :lol Same as you, I called Disney to find out quotes to be armed with the info before I talked to my hubby ... and same as you, he was like GO FOR IT!

Looking forward to reading the rest of your PTR :) Your girls are adorable!

Just caught up :) We have many of the same ADRs! We love 50s PTD and are going back this trip! We also are having many FIRST meals at restaurants (WCC, Ohana, CRT, Hoop De Doo) I am so excited!!!

Yeah for the SS changing leave dates with your hubby! Ugh, leave dates have me so stressed. We planned Disney for 4 days after DH is set to get home, so even if there are sand storms or something, we should be ok.

Love the outfits :) I made mickey mouse head tie dye shirts last year for our trip but we will be wearing them again this trip. We got TONS of compliments on them!

Looking forward to following along with the rest !!!

:thumbsup2 Your DD looks cute in it. Somehow I missed it:confused3

I know our Joanne's was selling it by the inch too and I really didn't know how many inches I would need:lmao: They had some MinnieMouse fabric like that too.

Welcome! Isn't it amazing how kids can change our minds? Then again I would have gone to Disney in a HEARTBEAT, but having the kids want to go gave DH that extra umph I guess :rotfl2: Thanks for the compliment on the kiddos...we are now under the impression that even with their quirks they are keepers :rotfl2:

Not sure if I've talked about this before, but it's kind of an update in a way. On our last Disney Vacation I looked like
wdw2010106.jpg

If you notice, Pooh and I could share the same size shirt :rotfl2: It was my middle daughter making that comment to me that made me decide that when I did infact get to go back to my happy place, I would go back healthy and down enough sizes that Pooh's red shirt would swim on me!

So here I am down 8lbs with 27 left to loose! That's right next time I return to the world I want to be Princess Sized! So far so good though I think I started working out in Febuary and cutting back what I ate. Unfortunately I have a HUGE sweet tooth (looking at the food porn thread does NOT help it either :rotfl2:) so it's something I've got to work on.

Also reciently we had to all get haircuts earlier then I would have liked. Gillian got a hold of some scissors while I was cleaning up my bedrom and proceeded to cut all the hair off of one side of her head  It was so short that now she has a very short short pixie (pictures to follow later). Our middle daughter had NOT been listening to me at all and done things that she wasnt supposed to do (getting on my computer and going to youtube, beatting up on her sisters, the list goes on and on) and was told "If you dont get the clothes you dumped on the floor picked up before I come downstairs from getting changed your getting your haircut too." She didnt believe me and in the end walked off with a jaw length bob...shorter in the back longer in the front. Because I felt bad about her crying and screaming through the whole haircut though I had our stylist put 2 hot pink streaks on either side of her head...She after this was on :cloud9:. I opted to also get a short pixie after constantly pushing my hair out of my eyes at the gym. I told my stylist the shorter the better and ended up with a haircut similar to Gillians (again pictures to follow). The only one not yet to get a haircut is Meghan but because her hair grows back so fast we are holding out until about a month before the trip.

Joining from the July and W.I.S.H. boards - am all caught up now. I LOVE your daughter's dresses!! Your girls are adorable. We have dinner at the Garden Grill on July 16th too - our ADR is 7pm....how about you?

Great job on your weight loss!

Waiting to see those haircuts photos...
