So, I finally bit the bullet and bought a DSLR, the aforementioned canon. I have 4.5 months to practice before our first trip to WDW in November. The two lenses that came in the bundle are the EF 18-135 IS and the EFS 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II.

Am I going to be able to get some great shots on our trip? I started playing with it today already love the auto quality alone compared to a point and click.

School me please!

Spend some time reading "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson. It will be a great investment of time.

What sort of photos are you hoping to get?

Well, I've never been so I don't know! Characters, food, my son just being happy! I'm going to also do photo pass only because I don't know if we will get back for several years.

Fantasyland Mom has some great shots her husband took on rides and throughout that I'd like to get too.

Definitely do this suggestion, And you'll be able to get some great shots with that setup. I have pretty much the same gear (a T4i and the 18-135), and have been happy with them.

Just keep on practicing!!!
