Canon Selphy Question - taking it on a cruise...

We are leaving soon for the DCL British Isles trip and I am thinking of investing in the Canon Selphy. I will not have access to wifi but love the idea of being able to print some photos while traveling for my travel journal. Can you connect (usb?) the iPhone 7+ to the Canon Selphy and not use wifi?

Not going to be lame, but why not just leave some space in your travel journal and print it out when you get home? Saves you a little time and of course space in your luggage.

They don't look prohibited, closest match I could find was "

• DVD, VCR, and Blu-ray players
• Gaming systems such as Playstation®, Xbox and Nintendo Wii (due to compatibility issues with the stateroom TVs)"

And I know that a printer isn't any of those items.

Most people want the convenience of wireless, so this might be hard to find out. Your best bet might be to call the Apple Store. I expect you'd need a special cable from them anyway.

You might need a lightning to USB, then USB to the Selphy?

That's an excellent point that I had even considered. Looks like I'll be calling DCL tomorrow.

The instructions show that you can send photos to the printer without using paid cell or paid Wi-Fi service. The printer acts as it own unique Wi-Fi wireless access point that you pair with your iPhone.
