Canon SD1300IS camera

I am looking for a new point and shoot camera. I am very interested in the Canon ELPH series and in particular the SD1300IS but am open to suggestions. I want to keep this below $200.

Also, how is the battery life of lithium ion batteries? This is my main concern about these cameras! How many pictures can be taken on a single charge?

Most cameras are using Lithium Ion batteries. The length of time between re-charges is totally dependent on the user. If you are using the flash and reviewing each shot, your battery usage will be higher and therefore less images per charge. If you are concerned about power then a second battery is always an option. The number of images between charges is a moving target.
